I the Panthers may be for real this season. That was the game I was expecting their bubble to burst, but it didn't happen.

And now on to the Dolphins. Thank GOD they have a great defence. The offense is absolutely crap. Even though they put up 24 points, if I was Wannstedt I would have raked the offensive squad over the coals, peeled paint off the walls. They were off balance all day today. Fiedler CANNOT throw accurately, cannot hit receivers in stride and is way too immobile out of the shotgun. But knowing coach Dave he'll praise his team and give em all week off...

Brian Griese, when are you available to start?

Ace McCloud
Oct 12th, 2003, 04:29:47 PM
I dunno, I think they pulled it out of their <smallfont color=#FF0000>-PLEASE READ THE FAQ-</smallfont>. Man.

I was at the Titans game. It was ok but the texans can make anyone look good, haha (no offense to any houston fans). But I was also watching the Packers game as well, as I'm a big fan. Wow was that a great game. Well, up until the 4th quarter anyway! The packers had a 17 point lead and the cheifs tied it up and won in over time!

In over time the packers blocked a field goal, that would have been good. So now they have the ball and Green fumbles! Next play the throw for a touchdown. So so gay. I hate football now.

Figrin D'an
Oct 12th, 2003, 07:42:09 PM
The Kansas City Chiefs are officially the luckiest team in the history of football. Either that, or Green Bay decided to hand them the ball game on a silver platter.

Right now, around the league, I see about 4-5 pretty good teams, and everyone else sucks. Seriously. There is so little consistency. Call it parity or the like, but there is a lot of ugly football being playing right now by a lot of teams.

Jedi Master Carr
Oct 12th, 2003, 08:54:19 PM
Lucky well I don't know about that ;) They could be a team of destiny, I have that feeling now they are 6-0 both of Dick Vermiel's teams who went to the SB started 6-0, so is this #3? I am beginning to think so. That difficult win at Green Bay makes me think so. Also how many wins can they get? Here are there remanding games

Oct. 20 @Oakland 9:00 PM ET
Oct. 26 Buffalo 8:30 PM ET
BYE WEEK
Nov. 9 Cleveland 1:00 PM ET
Nov. 16 @Cincinnati 1:00 PM ET
Nov. 23 Oakland 4:15 PM ET
Nov. 30 @San Diego 4:15 PM ET
Dec. 7 @Denver 4:15 PM ET
Dec. 14 Detroit 1:00 PM ET
Dec. 20 @Minnesota 5:00 PM ET
Dec. 28 Chicago 1:00 PM ET

They should reall beat the Raiders they look terrible again, I can't see them scoring any points on anybody and there defense is horrible. Buffalo is taking a nose dive now. Cleveland at home no problem. Cincinnati I know they have been scrappy but I can't see them beating this team. So the first game is Denver, really they could be 12-0 at that point if they defeat the easy teams. Still I am not going to suggest they are going to go unbeaten. To me that is impossible at best they go 15-1, IMO although I think 13-3 is more likely.

JMK
Oct 12th, 2003, 09:43:42 PM
Wow, there's 8 more games that the Chiefs should win. A 14-win season? That would be something. But you've got to admit, without Dante Hall, they would not be undefeated at this point.

You're right Figrin, there's a lot of sloppy football going on right now. Like I said before, even the Dolphins at 4-1 don't look sharp at all, except on defense. They just don't know how to put teams away.

13-14 wins seems very reasonable for KC now. They certainly aren't going to get much of a challenge from Oakland this season. The Raiders look simply AWFUL. I don't see Denver being able to catch them, but they're going to be one of the toughest games they have left. If the Vikings continue to play well that 12/20 game should be awesome.

Wrong answer.

It will be Kansas City and Carolina. Why?
Because the Minnesota Vikings must not only never win the Super Bowl, but they must never get there again. Their touch on the sacred Lombardi Trophy would forever taint it, and there must be no chance that they could win. Therefore, they must be prevented from getting there.

Besides, they are the ultimate choke artists. Remember 1998 anyone? The Vikings went 15-1 in the regular season, had home field advantage throughout the playoffs, and lost the NFC title game to Atlanta because of a missed field goal (a very makable field goal, BTW).

I can live with Kansas City winning it all... I don't hate them, and Dick Vermeil is a good coach, even if he is an overly-emotional weepy boy.

I'm still kind of pulling for Indianapolis... I think an AFC title game between Indy and KC would be incredibly entertaining.

EVeryone has a team or series of teams they HATE. Call me crazy, but I think we may have found out one if Figrin's. It's just a hunch, I could be wrong. ;)

Jedi Master Carr
Oct 13th, 2003, 04:51:22 PM
Yeah I think KC-Indy would be very entertaining probably a game in the 30's or 40's. I don't think Carolina will get there, I have problems with there QB situation I think you need a good QB to reach the SB. Carolina's Qb is just average which I think will hurt them, some team will stop Davis and they will lose. I thought Seattle would be a possibility but now I am not sure anymore. Minnesota has the weapons but they do seem to choke when it comes to the big show. You got Tampa Bay who could still get back there. Then there is Dallas who could still win that division. Actually the NFC looks weaker than the AFC right now IMO there isn't a dominant team and I think KC, Denver, Indy are better than just about all of them (though Carolina did beat Indy have to admit that)

Me? Hate a team? Nah... :mneh

Seriously for a moment... everyone knows I'm a Green Bay Packer fan. As much as the "traditional rivalry" in the old NFC Central and now the NFC North is supposed to be Packers vs. Bears, if you ask just about any real Packer fan, they'll say the real hated rivals of the Packers are the Minnesota Vikings (and vice versa).

That, and Randy Moss needs to be pimp slapped by one of the league's better strong safeties. But, that's another matter. ;)

Uhh...

Baltimore won with Trent Dilfer...
Tampa Bay won with Brad Johnson...
Atlanta got to the big game with Chris Chandler...

If you have a great defense and a solid running game, all you need is a QB that can manage the game well and execute the offense without making too many mistakes. The template has already been laid by previous teams, and at the moment, Carolina fits that mold pretty well. Jake Delhomme is young, but if he gets a little better with each start and builds some confidence, Carolina has the potential to go a long way.

Jedi Master Carr
Oct 13th, 2003, 09:17:59 PM
Well Dilfer and Johnson were known QB's though and both and good seasons, Johsnon is a very good QB IMO. The guy for the Panthers hasn't never started before this season and isn't much of a passer. You have got to pass, IMO especially if they play a team that can score points like Minnesota and KC. I just don't think Carolina can win the SuperBowl with a good QB.

I did some searching and number crunching and week 8's results from last year were the earliest I could go. But if I subtract that week's results from the total of week 8, we have the standings as of week 7. So we can get a pretty good idea of how well we've done our picks from last year to this year. I also put the winning percentage in brackets.(I've left out those who aren't here anymore, or playing this year).

Week 7 2002 Standings
Sene Unty: 65-37 (.637)
Jedieb: 63-39 (.618)
JMK: 61-41 (.599)
Jedi Master Carr: 61-41 (.599)

Lady Daiquiri: 47-41 (.534)

Taylor Millard: 19-25 (.432)

And this week's results:
