Square Enix has announced a DVD title called Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The story takes place 2 years after FFVII, the once peaceful world of FFVII has become corrupted again, and it seems both Cloud and Sephiroth are present in the movie. It is unclear whether this is only a DVD movie, or a full videogame.

Square needs to stick to making console RPGs. They were at the top of their game ten years ago doing just that.

There have been rumors floating around for a while now that Square might actually make a direct sequel to FF VII. I doubt this is a film... it wouldn't make any sense. It'll probably be a DVD game for a next-gen console system.

I hope so, but then again, I hope its just something super good game for the PS2. I don't want to buy a PS3 for awhile.

It looks good. Cloud looks a bit like Tidus, but I can overlook that. It looks like a movie, not a sequel, to be honest - since it's featuring Sephiroth and Sephiroth in a scene which was in the first game (FVII).

Either way, I'm looking forward to see what it turns out as :) I'm a big FFVII fan so

DV~Considering how poorly it did in the theatres, is tyhere really any real question on why they ain't making a sequel to it? :) Don't get me wrong, I liked TSW a lot too. :)

The movie SUCKED. Sorry, but it did. It was an awful mishmash of ideas from a few FF games and was just Square showing off how they could animate people.

That movie made no sense to me at all. I think they would have done a better job if they had turned one of their video games into a movie. But if they felt like they had to do something original, at least they could have set the movie in a sort of Medieval timeframe.

I don't care if it was a mish-mash of plots from games I've never played, I still thought it was a very good movie. Heck, it was a better movie than TPM or AOTC, although that's not saying much.

If it were to be re-released in theaters tomorrow, I'd buy a ticket. To me, it's up there with Star Trek VI, Star Wars V, Saving Private Ryan, and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade as one of the best movies of the last 100 years.
