District traffic slowed to a crawl around the skytrain depot at upper Coco, and I veered my speeder out of an adjacent skylane to touch down at the station. By my chronometer, I was ten minutes ahead of schedule, so I wasn't rushed for time. I put my speeder into idle hover and hopped out, pulling a medium-sized duffel bag from the passenger's seat.
She wasn't here yet. I scanned the thinning crowd at the station as the last morning skytrain lifted off. Overhead, a hovering chronometer told the tale as nine till. I set my bag down, and fired up a stim, adjusting the shades on my nose. There was no telling if she would play by the rules or not. I had no reason to expect her to, but it was the optimistic good sport in me to try.
One can never tell when its a game of life & death.
