EDIT(Why the hell I didn't realize the Fins had a bye this week is beyond me. I blame the crying infant in the background!)
I may be changing my Vikings pick before Sunday. Culpepper is doubtful and Moss is questionable. They may be able to pull it off with Ferrotte at QB, but not without Moss to loosen up the secondary.

Too bad you all are going to lose a point as KC is gonna be upset this week. Sorry guys. Still have time to fix your answers tho.

I knew you would pick Baltimore but I think it will be you that is upset >D KC will win because of Holmes he will be deterimened to out shine Lewis plus Baltimore has no QB. They rank dead last in passing offense, Bollar has only completed 35% of his passes that is awful. KC will put 8 in the box and shut Lewis down get up by several scores and force Bollar to throw, unless Bollar plays the best game he has every played KC should win.
So on to the games

You don't get it. Jamal Lewis = an M-1 Tank. He is unstoppable. God have mercy on the Chiefs.

Sep 25th, 2003, 07:23:35 PM
You have to be able to pass to keep defenses honest. Baltimore can't throw the ball with any consistency, and Jamal Lewis isn't going to have recorded setting games every week.
Jedi Master Carr
Sep 25th, 2003, 08:11:42 PM
Exactly that is Baltimore's problem right now. Personally I think they made a mistake starting Bollar so soon. I don't like starting rooking QB's unless they are just really special. They would have been better off with Redman.

3-4 as far as early games go. I got lucky with Houston. They had like 10 tries and finally got it in.

Bah. Its all Bollers fault. Friggen 3 interceptions. We kept the #1 defense to 17 points and scored 10 on them.

We all hate Brian Billick. ;)
Boller will probably get better. Just look at Patrick Ramsey and Quincy Carter. Hell, if Carter can actually resemble a NFL QB then there's hope for Boller. Wait a minute, I HATE the Ravens, why am I trying to cheer Ryan up? :rolleyes
The Chiefs looked good. That was the kind of defensive game they were incapable of winning last year. Every team in the AFC is playing catch up to them right now.
The Chargers had that game in the bag. This is really going to be a long season for them. Marty is going to be on the hot seat by the end of the season.
Love him or hate him, but it's hard not to admit that Bill Parcells is one of the best if not the best coach of his generation. I'm friggin' stunned at what he's getting out of the Cowboys. They're still going to be hard pressed to finish above .500, but any coach that can get Quincy Carter to play this well should clear some space on his mantle for the coach of the year award.
Is anyone still saying the Bills are the best team in the NFL? What a difference 2 weeks can make. The Bills really need to work on their running game. They looked horrible today.
Carolina looks like they're the real deal. That defense is one of the best in the league and Stephen Davis is going to have an awesome year. Their QB may hold them back from going all the way, but they're going to run over some teams before the season is over.

I am just glad the Chiefs won :) I knew it would be tough game playing on the road against a good defensive team. Still are defense played great that is what really makes me happy they are going to be a tough team. Next weekends game should be awesome Denver 4-0 vs Kansas City 4-0 what a matchup.

Once they get Travis Henry back, they'll be fine. The problem is they don't have a lot of experience behind him, and have suffered because of it. (Maybe they shouldn't have traded Olandis Gary after all...)
San Diego's problem is that they dumped all of the salary, and hence all of the veteran talent, on from their defense. The offense is fine (so long as Marty doesn't get ultra-conservative, which he is prone to at times)... they just need to improve the defense so that they don't get way behind early and so that they can actually hold a lead.

San Diego is just a mess. I think Marty might need to retire, IMO. Also how about Minnesota they looked very impressive today.

I saw that Vikings game. There are few things that I enjoy more than a Niners bashing and that was a GREAT one. For the Vikings to put on that kind of an effort with Ferrote at the helm was really impressive. They didn't just throw the ball, they ran all over the Niners. It was great to see Moss have a big day and show up Owens. He was yelling at his offensive coordinator on the sidelines and making a general jagoff of himself. He blasted his teammates during the week and there are rumbles from SF that they didn't appreciate it. Owens reminds me of that football player in that Budweiser commercial.
"There's no 'I' in team."
"Yeah, well there ain't no 'We' either.'
This might be his last year in SF.

I actually think it was an even bigger mistake for them to fire Marauci now, he was able to control him, kind of like how Phil Jackson was able to control Dennis Rodman.
Jedieb
Sep 28th, 2003, 08:58:46 PM
Owens helped get Marauci fired. He never forgave him for RIGHTLY suspending him after that Cowboys game. The Lions are lucky to have him. The Niners are stuck with Ericson who with over 60 NFL games to his credit is UNDER .500. Things may even get worse for SF. I'm telling you, Garcia is one good hit away from getting knocked out for the season. That SF O line is in really bad shape.
Man, the Colts are slapping the Saints silly. This is going to be a good week for me.

No kidding. You don't call out your Pro-Bowl quality quarterback like he did, either. That's worse than what Vanderjagt did to Manning after the Colts' playoff loss to the Jets.
And I completey agree... San Fran made a huge mistake by firing Mariuci.

I really underestimated Minnesota. I was first thinking of picking the Vikings, but then read about the injuries and picked SF in the last minute.
What do you think about this Super Bowl final: Kansas City vs Minnesota. Plausible scenario?

that is possible it would be a rematch of Super Bowl 4 too.

I can see the Vikings getting to the Championship game against the Bucs. I've had a feeling KC was going to improve. We just have to see how they hold up. A Priest Holmes or Culpepper season ending injury could derail both those teams. This season has gotten off to a great start.
