In a story reminiscent of the long-running Australian children's television series Skippy, in which a pet kangaroo rescued people in distress in the Australian bush
*ponders*
Skippy-"Arvo, mum! The bloody dero fell down the well!"
Mum-"Bonzer! He can stay in as far as I mind, the right bludger."
*a large british Bobby appears out of nowhere, and totally out of context. He is played by John Cleese with a pillow under his shirt, and has an artificially booming voice.*
Bobby-*swinging his nightstick* "Here now, what's all this then?!"

The thing I find most amusing is the fact that there was an Australian version of Lassie with a kangaroo.

How incredibly odd. Well, not really if you think about it. No different than a dog barking to warn its master of danger.

Well, I don't know much about kangaroos but that animal displayed an extraordinary amount of awareness and conscienceness. I would have figure a pet kangaroo would have just ignored his troubled master and went off grazing, oblivious to his peril. Jen-Jen, a good animal story and counters the idiots swimming with sharks.
