Episode 3 released later than other SW movies?

On the official site it says summer 2005 is the slated release of Episode 3. Every other Star Wars movie came out in late May, which you all know, is still the spring. Summer starts around June 20-21. Just a typo, or do we have to wait LONGER?????

Ive always said June to August is Summer. What's 10 days? If it comes out May 20th as Ive heard, it's NEARLY summer.

Further more, surely the movie summer starts in May, as the big movies start hitting home there?

The calendar summer is from June 21st - Sept. 21st. The summer movie season usually kicks off in early May, though.

My guess it that the term "summer" is being used loosely here. I suspect that Episode III will be slated for late May of 2005, unless there are unforseen difficulties in post-production.

If I was on my placement this year I'd have wished for June, as I'd be able to do any EP3 meets. But due to noone wanting me Im continuing Uni, so doesn't matter anyway :)

That is what I think the last 5 years or so the Summer begins for Hollywood The first weekend of May.

Well that's what I thought too. But what would have been so difficult about saying that the slated release date is May 2005? My only other guess is that they give themselves a cushion incase something does go wrong...

I typically think of the Summer movie season as starting with Memorial Day, but if Episode III follows suit with the others and comes out May 20 or so, I'd say thats close enough to be considered Summer...

I'd rather wait and have them do a good job then have it out sooner and have it be shoddy... but I know what you mean - it sucks having to wait until 2005...
