A bulletin suddenly flashed across screens galaxy wide. The viewers of the holonetwork watched as a small man appeared on their view panels and was projected or displayed in billions of homes. “This just in,” said the reporter in a steady voice, “the Imperator of the Federacy, Khendon Sevon, former Vice Diktat of the Galactic Empire will be addressing the intergalactic community in,” the tiny reporter’s eyes were cast down for a moment and his face revealed a slight sensation of shock. “Well,” continued the newscaster, “it appears he’s ready now? I mean, yes, he’s ready now. So, without further ado.” The transmission went blank.

The darkness slowly faded to an image of a room, decorated conservatively. Khendon Sevon stood on a podium, his face grim. The Officer had seen years of service and this fact resounded in his visage, which was bathed in shadows to aid in hiding that Khendon hadn’t slept in the passed week.

The Imperator began to speak, his voice steady and strong, words carefully chosen, “today is an epic day in the history of the galaxy,” began the renowned commander of fleets and men, “the Federacy, an entity that has again, and again proven itself a major contender for power in the galaxy, will be no longer accepting trade in any form, nor will it allow unauthorized vessels into the niche it has carved out in the core sector.” The former Vice Diktat allowed his words to sink in before continuing, “Our newly released Praetor-class vessels will strictly be patrolling our territories and shall be aided by the publicly announced TIE Shriekers. The Federacy feels these forces will be enough to detour any and all unauthorized incursions.

“From now on, the Federacy will be a self serving, self sustaining entity. No more vessels will be sold, United Imperial Technologies, Maverick Labs, and all of the technology companies sponsored by the Federacy have already pulled their resources within our boundaries.

“As of right now Delteon, Omerose, Wor Tandell, and the surrounding space are off limits. That is all.”

The reported returned, his face long and contorted, “Wha? W…and now back to your regularly scheduled program,” said the newsman mechanically.

Lash sat in the darkness pondering the situation of the galaxy and recounting his meeting with Garand Admiral Desaria. His trip to Thyferra had been productive and given him a feeling the Sovereignty would honor there pact of non agresson. He could see the lines of hyperspace stream by outside his view port and marveled at the simplicity and complexity of hyperspace. The ship rumbled and in an instant the lines he was looking at and analyzing faded into points of light bright and distant. The Flagship of the CEDF had dropped out of hyperspace to make a minor course change and monitor any updates from Csilla. The massive bulk of the Chiss vessel rumbled as the Engines began maneuvering her into the proper trajectory for her next jump.
Meanwhile on the Command deck Communications and sensor officers monitored incoming transmissions and data and began the analysis of this data to report to Grand Syndic Lash. A Sub Lieutenant monitoring the galactic new frequencies overheard an announcement.

"Sub Commander, I have a incoming transmission form the galactic new frequency I think needs to be monitored."

Sub Commander Gritu'ar'nuruodo Turned his attention to the Communications officer. He nodded and proceeded to walk to the Communications Station.

"What do you have Sub Lieutenant?"

The Com officer pressed the telecast button where the senor officer to hear.

" Federacy, Khendon Sevon, former Vice Diktat of the Galactic Empire will be addressing the intergalactic community in"

Immediately Turan knew the Grand Syndic would want to hear this.

"Patch me through to the Grand Syndics Chambers."

Turan's order was carried out in secs. the com channel had been set up and the com officer hit the open channel button.
Lash sat in the darkness thinking of the day ahead of him. His appearance before the Chiss Senate would be a corner stone in the development of there empires future. He was disturbed from his thoughts by a beep from the Com system on his desk. He turned from the entrancing gaze of space and pressed the receive button.

"Yes"

Lash answered with the single word no more. Sub Commander Turan had strict orders to not interrupt him and this intrusion was unsatisfactory behavior for any chiss command officer.

"Sorry to disturb you Grand Syndic. I believe you would want to see this."

Lash heard the calm certinty in his sub-ordinates voice. Turan was a good officer but would have to be punished all the same.

"Very well Sub Commander Patch it through."

Lash watch as Khendon Sevon appeared and began speaking. He listened to every word. watched every facial expression. focusing on the eye's of the man before him. The suttle changes in his posture. The tone of his voice. He could tell the Imperator was deadly serious and meant every word of his anouncment. This would change things dramatically. The fedaricy was the number one threat to the Chiss Empire. With its advanced weapons program rivaling there own, and the Cunning of there leader they were among the primary factions the Chiss had desired a non-agression pact with. On many occasions Lash had tried to meet with Sevon. These were always interrupted by meaningless and often non-important tasks set to him by the Senate. Lash watched as the transmission stopped and the channel was cleared. His thought had shifted from the thirst for understanding of the galaxy and its ways to the issue of what to do in sight of this new occurrence. His meeting with the Senate would most likely focus on this new occurrence and set the meeting with Desaria on a lesser scale of importance. Lash sat for a moment. Concentrating on what he had just seen. He heard the words but it was the sight that bothered him most. The eyes had shown brilliantly through any words the Imperator of the Federacy might have said. The posture of the man shown his true intent. Never flenching, and never pausing in his words. This was a problem. One which would need to be pondered and analyzed in detail.

"Sub Commander Please join me in my Chambers."

Lash had one last detail to work out before he set his mind to working out what he had just seen.

Khendon grinned as the room lightened and was filled with cheerful warmth. Soldiers around the room gave slight nods and went about their work. The holo-droid quickly exited the room and the false backing that had been present for the announcement was folded and thrown away in some nook on the battleship’s bridge.

The vessel was sleek and elegant, each edge refined and detailed. Computers clicked and chirped, crunching numbers, obliterating digits, and providing real time updates to every event in the galaxy. The craft was of a new breed, a race onto its own, a ship worthy of the Federacy name. The massive warship was the first of the lineage of Insuperable-class star destroyers. Unlike the other capital ships developed by the Federacy the Insuperable-class was designed for unprovoked savagery.

The elongated knife shape of the star destroyer was kept, although it was heavily improved upon with distinctions that made the Insuperable-class harshly contrast in comparison with the traditional ISD’s of the normal Imperials.

Khendon had dubbed the first of the Insuperables the Dominator, for its engineers had described it as “indomitable, seditious, blood thirsty, ruthless, unforgiving” and it would be used as such in the Imperator’s upcoming campaigns.

The massive battleship had made a flawless maiden hyperspace jump from the Omerose shipyards to Wor Tandell space. Here the ship would be fully armed and loaded with veteran mobile infantry, made ready for its lengthy mission.

The Federacy’s Leader stood, his face rejuvenated from his brooding. The dark hearted Imperial strolled leisurely towards the hangar, escorted by four heavily armed and armored officers of the mobile infantry, each scanning the corridors with train eyes and abstract sensors.

Ah, what a good day to be alive, thought Khendon with an invisible grin.

A newly made officer of the Imperial Federacy, Maal Lah was in a corner of the Dominator's main hanger, arguing with a personnel technician about the location of his officer's quarters.

"I'm telling you, sir, we don't have any available single-officer staterooms. The only available bunk is in the Alpha Compnay 3's barrack. Unless ou would like to sleep in your starfighter, you're going to have to......."

The tech's voice suddenly broke off. He straightened his posture, brought his feet to attention, hand performed a salute. Maal whipped around and followed suit.

It was the leader of the Federacy himself, former Vice-Diktat Sevon.
And he was in a good mood. And he was staring right at Maal. That was not a good combination.

"Officer Lah," his voice was crisp and precise, " Walk with me for a while."

And Maal complied, not knowing what this portended.

Khendon placed a reassuring hand on Officer Lah’s shoulder, “Colonel Lah, you have proven yourself a worthy pilot with your heroism in the boarder warfare that we have recently seen. With the Federacy’s apparent adoption of seclusion we have developed a bubble protected from the invasive eyes of intruders, I have read reports on your bravery in defending us from foolish prying vessels. As you know, our policy of cutting off traffic to our sectors started several months ago and was only now announced outside of our domain. I see a great future for you if you continue on this path of ingenuity.”

The two strode down a long corridor, the Imperator eventually removing his hand from the officer’s shoulder as a devious smile crept along his visage. “Now, throughout the course of the Dominator’s mission, I will be helping you gain an edge on your adversaries, trust me when I say you have potential and I intend for you to realize it!” Khendon’s voice had taken on aspects usually associated with his fiery speeches as he neared another entrance to the hangar.

“I will be issuing day passes to most of the crew,” the Imperator handed Officer Lah one of the cards and another smile crept along his face, “now, I must go planet side and inspect Wor Tandell’s facilities and the supplies being loaded aboard our vessel,” with that Khendon saluted the officer and quickly strode towards his shuttle.

Reshmar sat at the table facing the holo screen and the galactic news with a grim look on his face. What he had just saw had both shocked and confused him. He looked off into nothingness and did not notice the Calimari Lieutenant come into the officers mess. The Pale orange skinned creature walked to the table.

"Admiral, are you felling well? can I get a medic?."

Reshmar waved off the offer for medical attention.

"No thank you lieutenant. I must go to my chambers and contact fleet command at once."

Reshmar stood and walked away from the Calimari officer and out the door of the Mess. He walked with a vigorous pace down the hall way to his quarters.. The door slid open and Reshmar walked to his desk. He sat and quickly gathered his thoughts. He presses the com button and heard the quiet calm voice of his chef communications officer answer.

"Yes Admiral what can I do for you?"

Reshmar took a deep breath then began.

"I need a channel open to fleet command. I must speak with Admiral Lion or Admiral Ackbar at once."

Khendon looked around the busy launch bay. Shuttles fled from the craft like precious life fluids from a dying corpse—no doubt men and women wanting to capitalize on the day passes they had been given. The hangar looked virtually barren, the majority of the fighters that should have been aboard the Insuperable-class vessel were docked at Omerose, awaiting the [/I] Dominator[/I]’s arrival.

The large bay contained only a few more shuttlecraft. The Imperator approached his personal Lambda-class and boarded the small vessel. The interior of the shuttle was fairly spacious, specifically having been modified to accommodate every need of only two occupants. The pilot, dressed in an impeccable uniform and from the renowned Black Thorn squadron, saluted Khendon, who returned it with a wry smile. “Let’s set off, shall we?” said Khendon as he turned to the door that ensured his privacy.

The Lambda-class shuttle easily pulled out of the [/I] Dominator[/I]’s spacious hangar and unfolded its elegant wings. With a blast of modified engine wash—the Federacy used heavily modified Lambda-class shuttles—Khendon was sent hurtling towards Wor Tandell.

Maal stood in the main hangar bay, gazing at the day pass that the Imperator had given him. However, that was not what he was paying attention. In fact, Maal was not paying attention at all. He was repeating the conversation over and over in his head.

The fact was, the Imperator had called him by a certain name, one that Maal had been sure was not his. The leader of the Federacy had caled him colonel.

"Hey, Lah, you heading to ground today?"
A hand clapped him on the shoulder. Maal spun around and had the man in a choke-hold before he knew what he was doing. He stared for a second, then realized what was happening, and dropped the man. Still in a reverie, he spun around without apologizing and headed for one of the shuttles departing to deliver people to the ground to enjoy their day passes.

He boarded the ramp and handed his day pass to the boarding officer on duty. The man gazed at the pass for while, as if trying to recollect something, then reached into his breast pocket, pulled out a datacard and handed it to Maal.
"Here you are, Colonel," The name sounded so odd. "Go straight past this section to the second door on the left and enter."

Apparently one surprise wasn't enough for the day, Maal walked to the door and opened it. He stepped in and......
The room was empty. nonplussed, he sat down and placed the datacard in his datapad and opened it.

Colonel Maal Lah, Imperial Federacy Border Patrol, enter ID Number. Maal did so. Access granted. 1900 hours - Enclave Cantina. There was nothing else.

Maal checked his watch. 1800 hours. Sitting back, totally confused, Maal decided to find this cantina and see what this was all about.
