Standing in the grove at night, Akrabbim is at peace. The forest is quiet, yet alive. The gentle murmur of insects and small animals is soothing to the Jedi as he meditates.

His concentration is soon broken. It is not a sound that alerts him, but the absence thereof. No animals or insects can be heard, leading him to believe that something has disturbed them. A Light Sider is generally in tune with the Force, creating little disturbance in the natural order of things. So, if a Light Sider is not the cause, that can only mean...

Without even completing the thought, Akrabbim rises, drawing his twin katana, forged of quantum metal. The dark metal dully reflects the moonlight.

Show yourself, Dark Sider!

A sharp inhalation of breathe announced the position the blind Sith, Dyan Kharis had taken. He emerged out of the trees, black wraparound shades cybernetically blessed him with sight that birth had previously denied him. Besides them, he wore nothing but a lionclothe, each hand gripped twin rapiers.

The darksider flashed a grim leer and raised both swords, in a whistle of air, a rapier sliced the short distance and struck one of Akkrabim's blades forcefully, inviting the dance of steel...

Akrabbim's katana blocks the incoming rapier as it comes toward him. The man's dark sunglasses give him pause for a moment. The moon, though visible, would not allow enough light for a man to see through darkened glasses. Sight, therefore, must not be needed by this man.

Traditional illusions may not be useful. No matter... the mind can still be attacked. Akrabbim cuts in with both katana, one aimed for mid-shoulder, one aimed for the knees. As he swings in, he sends a blast of Force Confusion directly into the Sith's mind. The man's head is suddenly full of sights and images, ranging from random bursts of light to shapes and images. The effect, as the name implies, is to disorient and confuse the opponent. With luck, the sudden distraction will allow one of the katana to strike.

Being blind heightened your senses in extraordinary ways, Kharis' keen ears heard the shuffle of Akrabbim's feet, the whistle of steel, and the caress of displaced air against his skin. Since this engagement had been pronounced, the Sith had been in a deep meditative state where he was finely tuned into Darkside.

Despite the barrage of mental illusions, Dyan retreated a short quick hop back off his front foot as Akrabbim's swords passed dangerously close. While the Jedi's momentum was still shifting forward, Kharis lunged forward off his back foot with Force enhanced speed and thrust the needle sharp point of the left rapier straight at his foes' torso, below Akrabbim's ribs...

The man's backward hop saves him from the tips of the katana blades, but just barely. As the counter thrust comes in, Akrabbim continues moving forward. Stepping forward with his right foot, he angles his body sideways, the blade skimming him lightly. Heedless of the small cut, he continues forward, slamming the hilt of his right katana into the man's temple.

Never slowing, Akrabbim continues quickly to move out of range while the man is stunned. Once he is several steps away, he launches a modified Force Blindness. Not only is the man's brain filled wilth light, but a total absence of sound. Akrabbim begins slowly advancing back in...

The blow to the temple stunned Dyan as he instinctively whirled around, swinging a single deadly razor sharp blade at the passing Jedi. That is when all sound dimmed and a light filled his innermind. Confusion was Dyan's first momentary reaction but knowing that would lead only to sordid defeat, the Sith continued to back away. Rapiers wavering to guard against any new assault.

But whether being blind outwardly and inwardly was challenging but not impossible for a Darksider. With both sabers held ready, Dyan ignored the deafness and the light dancing behind his orbs, and instead focused on Akrabbim's Force signature. A smile grin played on his lips the moment he found the source of his sensory disruption.

Flying into action, Dyan swung one rapier in an upwards sidelong riposte across Akrabbim's chest as the other rapier whirled across the Jedi's thighs in a wide backhand arcing slash...

The stunning blow to the man's temple along with Akrabbim's continued forward movement takes him out of range of the man's counter attack. As he assaults the man's mind with both blindness and deafness, he sees the man stagger, then suddenly home in on him. It would seem that he is being tracked by his Force signature. No matter. Force signatures give vague directions and outlines instead of detailed description, so the Dark Sider is still at a disadvantage.

He quickly backrolls as the man moves in, dropping out of the way of the rapier blades. Coming to his feet, Akrabbim quickly flings all of his five shuriken using the Force. Since most of his concentration is absorbed in maintaining the mental sensory deprivation, he is not able to aim them with much precision. Two are sent into the ground on either side of the man. The remaining three head toward him in a roughly triangular pattern. The small quantum metal weapons are not intended to disable, merely to distract. Akrabbim poises himself, ready to leap in should one of them land.

Kharis heightened senses again detect the shift in air patterns of the Jedi's movements and the projectiles before the first two shurikens strike with a thud into the earth, alert despite his blind mental inner eye. A vague pattern of Akrabbim's signature still remains.

Legs naturally spaced apart for balance by learned practice, the Darkside with microsecond reflexes shifts and twists the Sith's upperbody far right, in a modified ducking motion. Moving fluidly in this single motion, Kharis deflects one shuriken with a glancing blow of his right rapier's blade, low, back at it's source's feet. While launching himself quickly into the air, performing a spinning upright cartwheel, slashing both rapier blades downwards at the crouched Jedi...

OOC: I'm not crouched.

IC: The three shuriken aimed at Kharis' body fly toward him quickly. The man blocks one, sending it flopping to the ground, but seems to completely ignore the other two. They hit and make minor cuts, but unfortunately do not embed themselves.

The man then leaps into a rather flashy spinning assault. Akrabbim, being on his feet already, simply hops backwards. The spin move, though pretty, limits the range. Once in mid-air, there's nothing the man can do to change his range short of breaking the laws of physics.

Akrabbim waits momentarily for the man to regain his feet, dropping every illusion in the process. He moves in slowly and parries with both swords so that neither man has an advantage. In the process, he summons the two shuriken he sent into the dirt earlier. They fly in low and fast, embedding themselves into the backs of the man's knees.

Once his swords are parried, Kharis falls swiftly back from Akrabbim and with uncanny instinct performs a high quarterroll backflip over the shurikens, which permits their deadly flight unhindered back to their master. Dyan Kharis lands deftly with feet positioned wide and swords raised ready.
