Just saw this on TV. Overall I thought this was great. I liked the recurring story, and how they integrated the cartoon into it. The "Und Dann" moments were good too. I also liked how events kept rehappening, just differently.

The only think I didn't like was some of the director's effects, like the Screaming breaking things, or the overuse of camera effects. The camera would spin round five or six times, or alternate between two angles every second or so when she's just running. It just ended up being distracting for me. Although, they did happen less and less, which is good.

If you haven't seen it though, go se it as soon as you can.

And get subtitles! NEVER get dubbed movies, always subtitles :)

Anyone else seen this?

It's known by and large as "Lola Rent", speaking of rent, that is exactly what I was going to do a few nights ago. This film does look interesting but I rented Gods and Monsters instead. I'll check it out later this week, had I known it was on TV I would've watched it. Alas.

I've wanted to see it for ages. :) Saw an ad for it painted on a wall in the Paris Metro when it was at Cannes years ago and STILL haven't seen the movie. ^_^;

Run Lola Run = Lola Rennt. What do you not comprehend?

I don't think there was any confusion. :)

Right you are, Miss De'Ville. Clearly it was Charley who does not comprehend. Back to school with you!

I was saying, for clarity, that most will know Run Lola Run as Lola Rennt. Fett then explained that Rennt means run, which I already knew and even if I hadn't done, would've been able to guess hence my calling him Redundant Point Boy. :cool

Yes but you spelled it "Rent" not "Rennt" and everyone knows that "Rent" means LATE FEES in German.

I do agree with him on subtitles though. Dubbing is generally cheesy and detracts from the essence of the film.

In a german to english translation, you don't lose all that much, if any. Its different in translating asian languages to english, thats a much bigger gap.
