JK: Jedi Academy demo...

Downloaded it. Played it. Loved it!

Now I'm itching for the full game!

I love how you can cutomize your character's looks and clothing. (Reminds me a lot of Galaxies.) Even down to what you want your lightsaber handle to look like, whether you have one saber, two sabers, or a double-bladed saber.

And from what I could tell of the demo, the level designs are REALLY cool!

I smell another winner in the JK line of games... :cool

I don't know about you all, but I certainly am pre-ordering my copy (and getting myself a free license plate holder :D)

I did enjoy the level design a lot more than the first, though. Dual sabers are nifteh.

Also, turn off dynamic flickering, it simply eats framerate for almost nothing noticable.

That is what I was thinking you can't expect too much from a demo. Still it was great I loved that level with Chewie.

Then again, the last FPS I have played was Quake. Quake one, mind you. So I'm fairly easily pleased. ;)

It's really cool :) Having dual sabers rocks, although I'm not sure what I think of the push/pull effects you (I can't seem to do grip then push either.. no more jedi canon? :()

My favorite new move is to do the jump-up kick after I've been knocked down, smack the other guy to the floor, then run him through with the downward stab. Instant death every time. :D

It also seems really easy at times to get quick kills on some of the Sith adepts in that crypt level. Just get them on one of the bridges, wait till they charge or jump, then do a quick Force push. They fly backwards and down into the chasm. :)

I really liked this move which I did but afterwards had no idea how to do. I pushed a rodian over then crouched and brought both two sabers down straight into him, like slamming the blades flush against the ground :) looked cool

Yeah the new movie sections to the games is great, and actually being able to be a Kel Dor is awsome :)

Man i so love my blue and green sabers :)

Great demo. Loved it all. CHaracter creation is enough for me. Double sabres are fun (The both buttons move is AWESOME :D), but single sabre on fast is still more fun for me :)

But am I the only one who questions Kyle's motivations? Lets see:

Tatooine: You'll need me! Stay here, I'm going to the cantina

Chandrilla: Stop the force users entering that tomb! I'll stay at the academy.

The first level on Tatooine is pretty easy, but I'm having some trouble later on in the second one, with 3 two saber wielding sith

Before you go into the room, stop just short of it. On your right you should clearly see one of them with your force sense if not with the nakid eye. creep slowly but surely up to him and once you think you are close enough, force throw your light saber towards him, when it eventually hits him it will only bring two instead of 3.

Use your force speed, and grip to defeat these 2

And attack the 3rd at your own leisure.

See if that works...

You come up the stairs and there are two of them stood far apart, raised, with their sabers in X's then beynod them, directly ahead of you is another one. There isn't anyone on the right.

Meet Torin, i was actually killing a darksider there, of screen, had to cut to down for filesize. He was killed and i sent him into a rolling tumble...but anyway..there is my char :)

Fun thing happened. Know where the guy with the rocket launcher is? Well I didn't kill him, dropping down to the path across. He ran down, and fired a rocket. So I pushed it away. And another came, so I pushed it. And so on. Then I realised the guy behind him was pushing them back, as 5-8 missiles slammed around me :D

I haven't found the missile launcher guy yet. I've found loads of rockets though.

Theres a part where you have to get across a bridge that is down. You drop down to take a lower route across. Missile Launcher guy is up there with some force users.

Someone at Massassi opened a few parts of the demo and says this is a developers dream over JO, like how MOTS was to JK. Hopefully we'll see some great Mods appear.



The new taunts. Dual Sabres is a nice floaty thing, dual bladed draws a circle and indicates to bring it on :)

Was tryign to get a good shot of the two saber jump moved after you push the enemy over, but it just ended up looking like he was shrieking at the sky. Oh well :)

Kelt, it isn't something they have ready for you. Open the console (Key next to 1 or SHIFT and that key), and type, without speech marks, "bind x taunt", where x is the key you want. Now press the button, making sure your sabre is out.

I believe this is what lights the area around you. Remember how in JO you could stay in pitch black with a Lightsabre? This is what lights the area up. It's best to remember this in the full game if you DO switch it off, as it can be useful.

Or you can turn up the brightness on your monitor for 5 seconds and double your framerate. They should have left it out, because 98% of the time it just serves to destroy performance.

New little thing. Type in console "bind x flourish", where x is the key to use. It's more show off stuff :)

You now have fists to choose. Button 1 is punch, button 2 is kick. Both buttons is an attack, forward and both is an attack, backwards and both is one

Your saber isn't there at first, and despite having 'dual sabers' on, I didnt ever see the second saber nor did he appear to be holding it until I hit throw.
