...you know what that means.

ITS GAMEDAY, BABY!!!!

Kickoff is at 6:45 PM CST, but that doesn't mean I can't get the party on RIGHT NOW!

ROLL TIDE, WOOOOO!!!!

First time we've hosted a #1 team at Bryant Denney stadium. This is going to be one hell of a game, if last year's match was any indication. I think our team is a bit stronger than we were then, and playing on our own turf....who knows. An upset could be in the works!

Last night on HBO, they played Crimson Tide. This is an omen. I can feel the crimson in my veins surging.

Yea Alabama, drown em Tide
Ev'ry Bama man's behind you, hit your stride
Go teach the Bulldogs to behave
Send the yellowjackets to a watery grave
And if a man start's to weaken, that's a shame
For Bama's pluck & grit have writ her name in Crimson flame
Fight on! Fight on! Fight on men!
Remember the Rose Bowl we'll win then!
Roll on to vict'ry, hit your stride
You're Dixie's football pride, Crimson Tide!
Roll Tide, Roll Tide!

Well, if you were really a crazy fan, you'd post a sound clip of yourself singing it. ;)

I can't seem to get anything but static from my sound recorder. Something's up with it. I'll have to record the fight song later I think :(

I think my University has, like, a football team, and stuff.

Yeah, they probably do. *blinks innocently* Though I'd be the last to know.

My college doesn't have a football team. We have a soccer team, which would be a football team in Europe, but here it's not a football team. It's a soccer team.

I should've specified then. This thread is about american football. There is other football, but you can make another thread for that.

Not much to see, except horrible officiating interfering with an otherwise close ball game.

Negative. I pretty much reverted to hooliganism last night. All I did was get drunk and pace around the area like a tiger shark, looking for a fight.

Aren't you meant to be like Ghandi when you get drunk?

Ghandi might have been a violent drunk ;)

Charley

Its plenty of excuse. Most of my nastiest, most irrational behavior is directly proportional to football.

Just like the rest of the UK. Alas.

Ah rubbish. You want bad football behavior? Go to Europe. When was there last trouble at Old Trafford, or Anfield, or Highbury? When was there last trouble at the San Siro? LAST NIGHT.

Soccer riots are overrated. I've seen and heard some pretty bad things go down after high school and college games.

Sep 7th, 2003, 04:18:28 PM
Have you ever been in a soccer riot?

Ryan Pode
Sep 7th, 2003, 04:19:44 PM
No... I don't live in Europe. But I've read about them and seen a few on TV.

Exactly my point.

But compared to other sporting event riots, they don't seem that bad... Have you ever been in one?

That's such a stupid thing to say. I disagree with you though, considering football, not American football btw, is the most popular sport in the world I'd be suprised if any other sporting event would ever produce worse riots. Plus the whole point is totally redundant, it doesn't matter how bad one riot is from another, they're all bad.
