Lets discuss how we can improve and reorganise the forum layout. Are there any forums needing change of title or description. What do you think of the new color theme? I am thinking some sort of metallic grey. So I am happy with it for a start. If we could make a cool image map with links and everything like the GJO has, it would be great. We need a logo like the GJO has for signature work and for additional graphics.

I am going to make some new topic buttons

When you make the new topic and reply buttons, you should aslo make one that matches them and says "Closed". Such a button will be displayed in closed topics where the reply button goes.

Well, here is a start. I feel so uninspired for the moment :rolleyes I will probably come up with something better

Very nice, Yog. The forum seems so much more...organized. Nice looking buttons, too.

Are we going to change the title graphic for Home One? Right now, the ed Text is clashing horribly with the new forum colors, and the MC-80 looks a bit low-resolution. (And...incidentally...that cruiser is the Liberty, not Home One...:lol)

Still, it's a great start. Good job, Yog!

Hey, this is already a neat start.

Yog, you want me to tackel the top image and logos and <smallfont color={hovercolor}>-Censored-</smallfont>?

AND GET RID OF THE CENSOR!

I made a recruitment poster tonight, as I was incredibly bored and completely wazzed on caffeine. It's kinda junk, because my inspiration is about zero at the moment, but I figure I could clean it up a bit later.

EDIT: I went back and changed a lot of stuff. For one, I unembossed most of the lower text, changed some of the colors, and rearranged some words. I completely eliminated the entire "pep talk", and replaced it with a simple quote. The overall effect made it look much less obnoxious. If you want to see how bad the first one is...well, it's still in a link at the bottom. I also made more of the central X-Wing and the New Republic logo visible, as I want those to be the images that're most focused upon.

Very cool idea Lion!

And Marcus, yes, I'd like you to cook up something for forum banner, because youre awesome with Photo Shop. I'd like us to have an image map, same kind as in GJO but with a color theme which fits with the forum colors we allready have. I strongly believe good design relies upon being consistant with the colors. Take a look at shadow faene fortress for what the type of style I have in mind. Its a metalic grey kitch modern style. I can do the image mapping if you like. The image mapping allows us to remove most of the text links, thus having a much more visual appealing control panel/links section.

We also need a good looking logo, which should also probably be integrated with the banner. I'ill do a search on the web to see if I can find something you can work with.

And may I also clarify, it is Ogre you should thank. He did all the work. Im just feeding him with ideas :)

Thanks Yog.

And here's a link to the NR logo I used:

A couple of seconds with the Magic Wand or the magnetic lasso will get rid of the starfield just fine.

Excellent. I am going to try to make it in crystal and metallic

Here is my first attempt to "sculpture" the logo:

I will play with it, and see what I can come up with :)

Oooo....pretty. :lol

It looks a bit like something you'd stamp into a building. Very cool.
