This operation has two parts involving -

Part I - Myself and Admiral Pode/Lebron (either or)

We will shortly begin the miliatry phase of the occupation of the Remnant and Syndicate. This will continue in Cat and Mouse, so get your fingers ready.

Part II - The Invasion of Anoth

3rd Light Assault Squadron
(a dozen or so light cruisers - no Destroyers)

Under the military command of Rear Admiral Kraken. Senior ground forces commander - Colonel-General Tchort. This planet - and its attached system - were pivotal in the history of the Republic and the whole jedi-solo twins thing. Work that in somehow, whether it is political, snetimental, or whatever. Our reason for the attack - smooth our borders. It is not heavily populated, so if you do run into any reistsnace, it will be NPC Imperial warlords forces scattered and insignificant.

Accompanying the force will be High Inquisitor R.S. Esalis, newest addition to the Empire. Her job will be to oversee the loaylty of the officers and crewmen in thecommand. She answers to noone except the Grand Inquisitor and Grand Admiral Desaria. She, though all the Inquisitoriate like her use Naval Ranks, operates outside the chain of command. Her rank can be considered equivalent of an Admiral, giving her seniority over the others. There is more to this that you will find out when it starts. I want the suprise to be genuine.

High Inquisitor Esalis will make the first posting.

Thank you, Grand Admiral, for the kind words.

As Desaria explained above, I am High Inquisitor Esalis. My rank is above those also on this mission to overtake Anoth, and thusly I will be given the respect and accordance thereof. If you value your commission and place in the Imperial Sovereignty, then I suggest you abide by what I say. On this mission, my word is law, and I will be evaluating not only your performance on this endeavor, but as the Grand Admiral mentioned, your loyalties as well.

I will be watching and observing how you run your operations.

Please me, and the Grand Admiral is pleased.

Disappoint me, and you disappoint Desaria as well.

An honour to serve under you High Inquisitor Esalis.

The ground assault will be nothing on the scale of Hilari in that case, even with sketchy intell on the rouge Imperial warlord groups there should be few problems. Might I suggest after the initial assault trying to sway the warlord groups back under the Imperial banner through means of 'decapitation' missions, i.e. killing off the warlords or their commanders on the ground etc?

No. Simply eradicate them. To a man. Unless you all decide on creating an NPC colony or some sort of inhabitatns, it will merely be an occupation. If you are to run across something in the way of a pirate band or some such thing - that is up the High Inquisitor.

Colone General Tchort - as per Imperial Directive 33826 you are promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.

I have been watching your rping ability and you are more than worthy of this title. This will be your last training exercise before you are reassigned to my personal command.

It will be my first "True" Planetery Invasion. I know the terrain of Anoth very well, for I have read all of the novels, and the Essential guide to planets. Can our force be equipped with MT-ATs? These would be the best vehicles for an ground invasion of Anoth.
I look forward to serving under the High Inquisitor, and once again working with Field Marshal Tchort.

You will be alotted only one Mechanized Brigade (15,000) worth of ground troops. Attached will be one battalion of Mt-Ats. 51 walkers. Use them wisely. If you come across strong resistance, you will need to call for reinforcements or use your fighters and orbital support capabilities well.

Thank you for that honour Grand Admiral. I will serve the Empire to my upmost ability.

As for the occupation, that is understood. The forces are sufficent for the assault. Admiral Kraken and myself should neutralise any resistance, optimisticaly, within two weeks at the most.

Will this be an acceptable force of ships for the operation?:

1 Escort Carrier:
*Complement: 48 TIE Defender Mk3s, 24 Scimitar Assault Bombers*
6 Carrack Cruisers Mk2

With your permission I'd like to be on the Escort Carrier since I assume you'll be heading the heavier war ships.

Oh, and congrats on the promotion Jarek.:cool

Three lancers? I think that's a bit over board on the anti-starfight ships don't you think? For this small of a task for only one or two would be sufficient.

Park Kraken
Sep 5th, 2003, 08:11:51 PM
Well, Desaria said we may run into some rogue Imperial Warlords while we are out here, along with pirates, and smugglers. Besides, unlike Carracks, Lancers actually have real landing bays that carry shuttles. This could be useful for raids on Pirate's warehouses. But, if you want to, I could switch a Lancer for a B4 Escort Frigate, or a Corona Frigate, or a....., hmmm, hey Telan, think I could use a Furious Droid Battlecruiser in this mission?

R. S. Esalis

This could be useful for raids on Pirate's warehouses

We are not raiding pirate warehouses on this mission, Rear-Admiral. We are destroying a civilization, and regardless of whether we are attacked by pirates or not, we need not bother ourselves with raiding such a storehouse. The Sovereignty has enough might and power that a few pirate trinkets are useless.

As far as the droid battlecruiser, no. we will not be using one.

As it now stands, I am awaiting an answer from the grand admiral before starting this mission. If you have any questions, I can be reached on Trillian as R S Esalis. Or, you may PM me.

I have never had the pleasure of meeting with you, High Inquisitor. May I ask how long have you served with the Imperial Soveriengty?

R. S. Esalis
Sep 9th, 2003, 11:40:51 AM
I have served long enough that the Grand Admiral trusts me in the decisions that I make.

As for not having the pleasure of meeting me as of yet, it is simply because I wished to not make my presence known. I watch the Admiral's higher ups constantly, gauging their loyalty to his Empire. Just because I didn't register my name until a week ago does not mean I wasn't a part of the Sovereignty, and it most certainly did not not mean I didn't watch.

Is there any specific target that needs to be dealt with? A base, colony etc?

Park Kraken
Sep 9th, 2003, 07:39:02 PM
As far as I know, our only objective is to conquer and hold Anoth. The Planet itself is actually three planetoids held together by some kind of electro magnetic field, that is not too ship friendly, as the crew of the Imperial Dreadnought Vendetta found out in their unfortunate demise. The largest of the three planetoids has gravity, so a base was built into the planteoid, with several small support facilities. The base has automated security laser cannons, assassin droids disguised as computers, bunk rooms, etc. From the outside, at the most all we should recieve is resistance from 10 Heavy Turbolaser Cannons, a small shield projector, and a squadron of X-wings.
As for the various Imperial Warlords that exist out there, I only know of one, a rogue Commander with a trio of Carracks, and about three squadrons of old TIE Fighters at his disposal. That is all I can think of.

Telan Desaria

Resistance will be met in the form of whatever High Inquisitor Esalis deigns neccessary. There is no claim to the planet. And no, such a task force is more than sufficient. In fact, it is a drain on Imperial Resources. We are more German than Russian - the former stole victory through superior tactics and discipine, the latter through overwhelming numbers alone.

How suitable then that I have a force of fast, and mauverable ships with heavy firepower. Anyone up for a Blitzkreig?

R. S. Esalis
Sep 16th, 2003, 11:30:36 AM
I will be starting the thread this evening.

I have been given an Abolisher II class heavy cruiser, the Vox-Dei as my flagship. Rear-Admiral, I will PM you a final list of the fleet that we will be using, and then post it here for everyone else to see.

Will Commander Balades will be in command of the fleet under Inquisitor Esalis?

Telan Desaria
Sep 22nd, 2003, 05:34:23 PM
There will be no overall naval commander. Inquisitor Esalis will organize things and you will execute things. She represents the covert and deadly arms of the Empire, you the gentry and Army, and Belades the dedicated Fleet.

Jarek, now you know why I went into exile, besides the reasons of building a huge financial, industrial, economical, and military empire, and building a sizable Fleet to bushwhack the NR out of nowhere, that is. Telan, you want to organize an operation for my return, like a strike on Mon Calamari, or something like that? I'll also be developing superweapons in the secrecy of the Unknown regions.

Jarek T'chort

I tell you another reason I went into exile. My men were barely experienced Naval officers. When I come back they will be well seasoned veterans ready to crush the NR. Attacking Alien planets with tons of Star Destroyers will get you a lot more seasonings than a couple of pitiful warlords.

Jarek T'chort
Oct 23rd, 2003, 12:01:57 PM
All combat is a test of Imperial personnel. Even "Pitiful warlords." We cannot overlook the threat of pirates and warlords, however pitiful they may be in your eyes. I also hope you are not insulting my armed forces Rear Admiral?
