>_<
Ok, I had never seen these movies before, but I remember a thread here about them...all I can say is...weird. It's cheesy 1980's-ish effects, but the story is pretty interesting.
I guess we're getting this show on Space here in Canada, so they're showing the movies.
At least A&E is showing an MI-5 Marathon though :crack

MI-5 can have some really great stories though I was not an advid watcher of the series.
V, on the other hand, is everything 80's television melodrama nightmares are made of. OMG, I am feeling nausea thinking about this bunghole trash as Marcus aptly put it. Please leave it dead and buried.

MI-5. or Spooks, is great stuff. Some very clever plots and some enat twists, coupled with some great acting.

Hey I love V realize you have to ignore the 80is TV FX I thought it had a great story and was a lot better than ID4 in terms on Alien invasion films.

Robert Englund was an amusing character but besides that it just carries with it too many dreadful 80's conventions. Stirs bad memories of this decade in television.

Hey I loved the 80's TV but hey that was me I grew up with it, the A-Team, Family Ties, Cosby Show, Night Court and Cheers those were some great shows, some of them are better than anything on TV today.

Dae - I was watching some of that MI-5 on tv today. Its pretty good. I saw an episode the other day (or the backend of the episode) where "Toms" family are locked in the house with a bomb - and the end was very worrying :(
I hate coming into a series half way through. But I think Im gonna start watching it. I like what Ive seen so far.
Plus "Giles" is in it :)

V was great, but I dont seem to find it anywhere. Youre lucky they are broadcasting it on TV. In Norway, their just sending crap like Teletubbies and Bold and Beautiful..

I beg to differ though Magnum PI, Night Court, Hill Street Blues, Matlock, Moonlighting, and Cheers were very good. But today you have NYPD Blue, CSI, Law & Order, Crossing Jordan, The Practice, etc, etc. Great stuff!
The new Peacemaker program is pretty darn nifty too.

I think comedies were better than, a lot of the comedies on today, especially family ones aren't that good.

Cheers alone destroys every "modern sitcom" that comes after Seinfeld.

I fully 100% agree with both Charley and Carr's last comments. Today's sitcoms are very morass and forgettable. I hate them. But it is the other programming that has grown far more realistic and provocative now, today.

Well, these days I don't watch much primetime television programming like I used to but the one comedy I happen to catch occassionally is Everyone Loves Raymond, and sometimes Simpsons reruns.
