Is is board policy that there will never be, say, a Batman or John McClane. But does the rule continue to names that AREN'T copyrighted?


My example is someone in Storytelling is using the name Dorian Gray. Now, you can't be sued for using this, as it is out of the copyright time (Which is why he is in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). Would he be clear of this rule?

wasnt this brought up with the Sherlock Holmes thing? We decided that it be best that it wasn't used so ... this play should change his named to be fair with AB that wanted to do something simliar

Okay. Just thought I'd bring it up because I didn't know if we'd spoken about this area, as it is inbetween rules :)
