Preparations (complete)

[Lady Mylia]

OOC: I know that this topic still hasn't been decided by the council but in order to move along to story and I am going to start this thread

Mylia stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towels around her body. She then took another towel and started to dry her hair. Mylia looked into the mirror with a smile, in a while her mother would arrive at the GJO and she and Jacali would be swept off to the annual banquet. She couldn't help but think about her father that morning, today was the anniversary of his death, as well as her Uncle's. She smiled sadly as she thought about them. She owed all this to them, without them she would never have been here training with Dasquian or she wouldn't have met Jacali--her closet friend. Pushing all that aside, Mylia stepped into her room to finish getting ready. She went over to her bed and pick up the clothes she had laid out--an elagant white shirt with a nice pair of black pants. Her mother loved that outfit, and she hoped she'd be able to please her mother today. She slipped them on and went back into her 'fresher to finish getting ready. She carefully did her hair and make-up the way her mother liked it. After she was finished she walked out into the living quater and picked up a book while she waited for Jacali to finish getting ready and for her mother to arrive.

Jacali stared at herself in the mirror, her newly purchased tan Padawan attire was now cleaned, ironed and ready to go. Brown boots neatly polished as was the brown belt at her waist. She had no fancy street clothes and the clothing she had brought with her after her arrival, she'd thrown out.

She had thought momentarily about asking Mylia if she could borrow some better wear. But she was a Jedi Padawan after all and she wasn't ashamed to look the part, for any occasion.

Jacali felt a ping of nervousness as she knew their master, Dasquian would be joining them as her invited escort.

The gown she had chosen from Mylia's closet lay neatly across her bed, along with shoes and whatever else Mylia had stuck into the small carrying case.

With one last deep breath, she crossed her room and opened the door and walked out. Here goes nothing...

She silently hoped the vision she had was terribly wrong.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia basically jumped up as Jacali opened the door. She ran over to her, a troubled expression crossed her face. She was so worried about her mother's visit. Her mother hadn't been to visit yet, and she could understand why. The memories of her deceased husband would probably be to much for her to bare. Even though her mother is a strong woman, sometimes everyone gets emotional. She tried to push worries out of her head. "You look great Jacali, very Jedi," She winked. Mylia had her white robe waiting for her beside her dress, she would put the robe on before they left. She looked down at her chrono, she had no idea when her mother would arrive and that made it even more nerve racking. She sighed slightly and looked up to Jacali. "Well, what should we do while we wait?"

"Thanks," Jacali answered as she crossed the room and looked into the mirror. "How about my hair?" Mixed strands of reddish-gold hung loosely for once, about her shoulders.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia walked over to Jacali and stood behind her, looking at her reflection. "You hair is perfect. Like always." She smiled. She looked at her own reflection with a sigh, she was hoping her mother would notice the outfit she picked out.

Jacali felt the nervousness in her roommate through the Force at which she had been adapting herself too. With a look of concern, she asked. "Are you alright?" It was good to hear those words coming from her mouth for once and not being the receiver, as so many times in the past.

Mylia shoke her head. "No, not really." She smiled sadly to her friend. "My mother is coming today, she hasn't been surround by Jedi since my father. I don't know how she's going to act. I want everything to be perfect for her, but I have a feeling things are going to go wrong."

Jacali winced slightly. "Don't worry about it, I'm sure things will be fine." Mylia was such a worrier. She smiled. "You'll do great and I'm sure she'll be so glad to see you."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia shrugged. "I don't know about me doing great, my mother wasn't pleased about me becoming a Jedi. I'm sure she'll be glad to see me too... alive." Mylia mumbled the last part under her breath.

The Padawan caught on to her friends reply, but didn't comment. "I'm sure she'll be glad too. What is your mother like and what does she do?" This information could be very useful, she needed to know as much as she could so she could explain more to Dasquian later.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia looked around, trying to avoid Jacali's eyes. "Well she's a senator for Rabaan. She's a very strong woman, but gentle. She's very caring to her family, but really knows how to tear someone a new one if needed. My mother is a very awesome person."

Jacali nodded with a smile and sighed heavily.

Had Mylia forgotten? Had the vision she told her a week ago slipped her mind?

"I'm sure she's an awesome lady, Mylia." She looked away for a moment as her stomach twisted. "Uh..Mylia...you really need to be on your toes tonight and it's not just because of your mother. I fear for your safety as does the council, that's why Dasquian will be with us."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia's heart dropped into her stomach, just like the first time that she was told about the vision.

It was a very pretty day, ironiclly. The sun was out and Mylia was enjoying the garden when Jacali found her. Mylia could tell by the minute she saw Jacali that something was the matter, but it was nothing like what she suspected. Jacali came over and sat next to Mylia, placing her hand on Mylia's shoulder. Mylia look at Jacali. "What's wrong?" She asked. Jacali tried to perpare Mylia for the news, but it was still very shocking.

"Mylia, there is something I have to tell you. It's something I've been meaning to tell you for a week now, but I couldn't bring myself to it."

Mylia's heart began beating faster. What could Jacali be talking about.

"You remember how I told you I had the vision about my parents?" Jacali asked. Mylia nodded, faster and faster her heart began to beat. "Well, I had a vision about you. That night I woke you up." Mylia nodded again. "It deals with the banquet." Mylia then gasped, and felt dizzy. Mylia knew that whatever it was wasn't good news. "At the banquet, a young man will escort you, and sometime during the evening buy you a drink. But the drink has something in it and you passout. Soon after the man will take you to..." Jacali couldn't finish, but Mylia erged her to continue. Mylia needed to know. "... to a monster, a evil-looking thing and he goes to bite you neck. That's when I woke up." Mylia placed her hand over her mouth with a gasp. Her heart began speeding up even more and the lightheadedness began to get worse. How could this happen? Even at her fahter's banquet. The conversation ended with Mylia getting help back to their room and mopping around their room all day, worrying her head off.

Mylia had been so busy getting ready and making preperations for her mother to visit that she had completely forgot about the potiental danger she was in. Mylia looked to Jacali, she was happy that Dasquian would be there, but still worried that things might get out of control. "I know, and thanks for being there for me."

Jacali put a comforting hand on Mylia's shoulder. "I'll always be there and we'll get through this."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia tried to smile, even though she was thinking about the danger she was going to be in. "Thanks, I know I can always count on you." Mylia looked down at her chrono again for a moment. What was taking her mother so long?

[Lexanna Basque]

A limo rode up to the entrance of the grounds. She stopped at the gate to speak with the gaurd. She rolled down the glass on her luxury speeder and smiled to the gaurd.

"I'm here to pick up my daughter, Mylia Basque. I am Lexanna Basque."

The gaurd nodded her through and she nodded in return. As Lexanna rode into the Grounds memories of her husband flooded back. She pushed away all the thoughts of her husband for now, that's what tonight was for. Lexanna was scheduled to arrive at the banquet tonight just before 5 o'clock to make sure things were in order and then she was to make her annual speech just before 7, when dinner was supposed to be served. She couldn't help but think of these things as she drove up towards the huge Jedi Grounds, where she was supposed to pick up her daughter--Mylia. As the driver stopped and got out and opened the door for her. She smiled.

"Thank you, Nigil."

Nigil had been working for the Basque's since before Mylia was born, he was like one of the family.
Lexanna made her way up the huge stone steps her pulled out her comm link and called Mylia.

"Honey, I'm coming up the steps. Meet me downstairs."

She waited a moment for an answer. "On my way." Was the only responce she recieved. Lexanna found a bench surrounded by several trees and bushes to sit and wait for Mylia.

[Lady Mylia]

After Mylia recieved her mother's message she began to get frantic. She rushed around the room for a couple minutes straightening things up. She finally stopped and looked to Jacali. "How do I look? Is my hair good? My outfit decent? Is this place clean enough?" Of course the room was spotless, like usual. She sighed and tried to calm down. "Would you like to some get my mother with me?"

Jacali smiled. "Of course, calm down, my friend. It's your mother, not the Jedi council." She grabbed her robe. "Let's go say hello."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia laughed, Jacali could always make her feel better. They chatted about nothing really as they made their way down to meet Lexanna. As they turned the final corner, walked down the final hall, and opened the final door standing in between Mylia and Lexanna, she began to get nervous again. Once she saw her mother she forced a smile through all the nervousness. "Mother. It's good to see you." She walked over and hugged her mother.

Jacali stood by quietly, watching mother and daughter hug. Oh, how she missed that with her own mom. But, that would be another time and another place.

She was glad that Mylia had her mother and was able to be so close to her. She smiled gently and waited for her introduction.

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna embraced her daughter. After the hug she backed away and looked Mylia over. "You are looking well, Mylia. I can see you are staying in good shape. I like the outfit you chose, very elegant." Lexanna looked over to the girl standing close to Mylia. "Don't be rude honey, introduce me to your friend."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia beamed as her mother praised her. So far so good. "Oh, of course! Sorry! Mom, this is Jacali Danner. My closest friend and roommate. Jacali, this is my mother, Senator Basque."

[Dasquian Belargic]

Dasquian approached his two apprentices and the figure who he had just overheard as being Mylia’s mother in silence, not wanting to interrupt anything. He did however greet Jacali through telepathy, and stopped short of the group with his arms behind his back and a smile on his face.

Jacali bowed a greeting to Mylia's mother. "Senator Basque, it's a pleasure." She smiled and then looked at Dasquian and nodded another greeting. Hello, Master.

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna nodded slightly to the young woman. "Good day, Miss Danner." She looked over and noticed a young gentleman standing off to the side, he seemed to know the two girls. She smiled slightly to him.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia looked in the direction of her mother and noticed Dasquian. Seeing him made her feel more comfortable. She smiled and waved to him. "Hello, Master Dasquian. This is my mother, Senator Lexanna Basque." Motioned him closer.

[Dasquian Belargic]

“A pleasure to meet you, Senator Basque,” Dasquian bowed his head in greeting.

“I am Jedi Knight Dasquian Belargic, a member of the Council here and your daughters tutor.”

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia looked to her mother, wondering how she would take meeting a Jedi Knight. She gulped slightly, waiting for her mothers reaction.

[Lexanna Basque]

"Dasquian, it's a pleasure. I trust my daughter isn't too much trouble for you to handle." Lexanna smiled to Mylia and looked back to the Knight. She looked him over, he looked respectable enough. Seeing the Knight brought back memories of her husband, she forced a smiled and pushed those thoughts away.

[Dasquian Belargic]

“Not in the slightest, Senator Basque. She is a model apprentice,” Dasquian said, brimming with a smile.

“You should be proud of her.”

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia blushed as Dasquian spoke. She smiled to him. She wondered how her mom would reply.

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna smiled and nodded. "I'm glad to here." Lexanna turned her attention back towards her daughter. "So, would you like to take me up to your room?"

[Lady Mylia]

"Oh, of course mom." Mylia frowned sligtly as her mom barely responsed to Master Dasquian's praise. She sighed slightly and pushed her dissappointment away. "It's right this way." She said leading the group through the doorway and up the stairs.

[Dasquian Belargic]

“I’ll leave you two alone then,” Dasquian said, a hint of a questioning tone in his voice as he bowed, preparing to depart.

“Enjoy your stay with us, Senator.”

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia shoke her head, having both Jacali and Dasquian with her camled her. "No, no, Dasquian. If you'd like I'd like you to join us." She looked to him, putting up a mental block, only allowing her Master to see her thoughts. Please, stay Master. You preasence is a comfort. She silently begged him to stay.

[Dasquian Belargic]

“Oh, well if you would rather I did,” his expression brightened up some.

“It would be a pleasure.”

Jacali was actually glad he was staying too, it wouldn't make her feel like such a third wheel. She smiled kindly and followed along.

[Lady Mylia]

"Good good, come on now. Let's go." She tried to make as much small talk as possible as they walked to the girls' room. Finally, after what seemed like a really long time, she reached the room. Mylia slid her key card through into the door and pushed it open. "Here we are, home sweet home."

[Dasquian Belargic]

Dasquian waited for the others to enter before he did.

“How long are you going to be staying with us, Senator?”

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna shrugged slightly as they made their way into the room. She looked around, it was nice, well about as nice as it could get for being tiny and cramped. "Only for today, we are going to be leaving soon to go to the banquet." She looked towards he daughter for confirmation on the plans, making sure they were still correct.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia nodded. "Yes, mother. We are just staying for a little while." She sighed slightly as she noticed what seemed to be her mother's disapproving look on the room.

[Dasquian Belargic]

“I see.”

Dasquian sighed, although it was barely audible.

“There are larger suits on the higher floors if you would prefer to sleep there, Senator. As Jedi we do not believe in squandering currency on unnecessary luxuries, hence the somewhat Spartan quarters you will see around you. It is a perfect living environment for learners, however, as it ensures their attention does not deviant from their studies.”

Jacali could somewhat feel the vibes going between mother and daughter, her own mom would've been so proud of her.

But, she was kinda picking up that Mylia wasn't as close to her mom as one would've thought, not in the least.

The young Padawan just simply sighed and smiled, trying to give Mylia as much support here that she possibly could.

[Lexanna Basque]

"I am sure they are very nice, but that will not be needed. We won't be here for much longer, Mylia just wished to show me around a bit before leaving." Lexanna turned back towards her daughter. "Is this all you wanted to show me, honey?"

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia nodded towards her mother. "I guess this was it, I mean, do you wish to see anything else? We have a great archive and and many beautiful gardens around." She said hopefully to her mom, but she knew that nothing would come of it.

[Dasquian Belargic]

“Oh yes, the Orders archives are the most extensive in the core… and the gardens are comparable to those on Naboo.”

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia nodded. "They are so beautiful mother." She hoped Lexanna would want a tour, but seriously doubted it.

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna looked to her daughter and then back to the young man. "I think I tour would be nice. Thank you, Jedi Knight Belargic."

[Dasquian Belargic]

Dasquian beamed, “Excellent. Would you like to go now or…?”

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna glanced down at her chrono. Two hours before they had to leave. That should be enough time for Mylia to show me all her silly Jedi stuff, Lexanna thought to herself. "Yes, now would be wonderful, darling." She took the Knight by his arm. "Lead the way."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia watched uncomfortably as her mother took Dasquian's arm, yet she still followed. She looked to Jacali with an uncomfortable smile, knowing the Jacali probably felt about the same way she did.

Jacali shrugged and she placed a comforting hand on Mylia's shoulder as they followed Dasquian and her mother out the door.

[Dasquian Belargic]

Dasquian smiled a little as they headed out. They emerged into a large hall, through which many Jedi were passing. There was a large window looking out onto Coruscant at the top of a flight of stairs, which presumably lead to more rooms. Instead of heading up, however, Dasquian continued on towards the large double doors at the far end of the room.

“This room was named the memorial room. When the Temple was moved to Coruscant, it was built as commemoration for all of the Jedi of old. As you can see, we have many statues and busts of them. I have heard rumors from the Padawans that the statue of Master Yoda is reputed to move when no one is watching,” he chuckled.

[Lexanna Basque]

Lexanna laughed slightly as Dasquian's humor. "I'm sure Master Yoda does." She said as they passed through the room. It was nice and all, but it's just not what Lexanna wanted to see. "What about these gardens?"

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia sighed as they entered the gardens, she couldn't wait for this tour to be over.


Finally, if was over.... and now the real fun would begin....
