And as a re-opening special, Assasins Inc is proud to introduce onto the black market a highly vaunted weapon that so far, only a very select few fringe dwellers have been able to obtain.

Are you sick of Jedi reflecting your blaster bolts? Are you tired of the NRSF blasting holes in your armour with their Rail Guns? Want a weapon that can bring fear to your opponents and turn em into mince meat? Then, look at our weapons racks today! For a limited time only.....

<img src=http://www.thegjo.com/assaultgun.jpg>

We have the vaunted, tried and true NRSF Mk II Assault Gun, as seen in action used Helenias Evenstar. This deadly weapon is not of the usual Rail technology, but is built around Alliance Technology's Gauss Electro-magnetic impulse rings. The Mk II Assault Gun is designed to be used against Jedi, Sith and heavily armoured opponents, able to blast holes in steel plate up to 10 cm thick.

This weapon take three kinds of ammunition - sabot solid projectile, sabot explosive and sabot pellet. In all cases, twin sabots fall away in flight to leave the projectiles to fly free. Solid ammo provides long range, accurate killing power, explosive is medium range grenade type damage, pellet is short range mince meating.

All ammo cartridges have a kicker percussion base, designed to give the projectiles a kick start into the acceleration rings, which can be seen down the barrel. Thence, unlike Rail Guns, these have kick back and are loud. But, is it not true that there's nothing that brings skid marks to a mook than hearing the roar of a Assault Gun?

10 acceleration rings bring the projectile to a muzzle velocity of Mach 7 - a full 2000 kph more than the Rail Gun. The gun is powered by a clip in power cell (not shown here as yet), it takes 8 cartridges in standard form, tho I believe we can get a 20 cartridge auto load clip. Maybe.

At point blank, no Jedi can react fast enough to stop a face full of this gun from slaughtering them - and even at medium or long range, even a Master would be hard pressed to react fast enough to do anything more than duck.

However, creat empor, as the Assault Gun is notoriosly slow to re-load and with only 8 shots, you better be sure your accurate. Reloading is also very slow, spares are almost non existant and replacement ammo can only be stolen from NRSF stores or the heavily guarded Alliance porduction facilities. Assasins Inc is working on it's own ammo range, but that will take a few more weeks to get right.

These guns are super rare, we only have five in stock with 50 mixed rounds each. So, if your looking for a gun that will leave a lasting impression, contact Assasins Inc today. Only 10,000 credits and we dont need id!

(No warranty will be given and refund request will be met by a Pellet spray)

(And yes, it's another Photoshop creation bought to you by Digital Barstardry :D )

Edit : For prospective buyers, here is a larger view to help in your purchace decision

You're Jedi. You have your lightsaber. Isn't that enough for you people?

The Imperial Inquisitoriate would like to order one thousand for its Jedi hunting squads. Willing to purchase en masse for the price of 1,600 credits Imperial per unit.

Master alpha -

Thank you for your enquiry, but as these guns have been stolen, I believe you would be more interested in catching the thieves, rather than buying, I think ^_^

Master Telan -

Thank you for your enquiry, but unfortunantly such a large cache is not availible. The company that builds these is a small one and have exclusive contract to the NR of supply. I can, unfortunatly only supply what is stolen or reverse engineered. I have five on hand, which may whet your appetite for a continued supply as we work out other ways of accquiring the superb rail guns of Alliance Tech.

(And OOC, I'll only ever steal small amounts of high powered weapons as not to flood the market or have every person own something truly nasty. Cant have every nong carrying rail, blasters are afterall the cheaper and common gun - rails in canon are super rare and highly expensive if you can find them. However, be aware Assasins Inc will be making IC annoucnements of other equipment that may be of interest to players)

PS. - Turn that pic into a link, it takes forever to load. Thanks

Obviously.

I would rather conduct business face to face, rather than ‘secure’ transfers. They seem to have a reputation to fail on my side of the deals. Of course, I am more-than-willing to offer more than the price tag holds, if I am satisfied with the hardware.

Contact as soon as possible for arrangements.

Master Kerr -

Once the credit amount is retrieved, the gun and ammunition will be delivered by secure courier. Thank you for your business.

Tirzak Kerr
Aug 6th, 2003, 09:20:57 PM
OOC-

we will be receiving 10 each of these: sabot solid projectile, sabot explosive and sabot pellet.

Correct?

And that of course is only temporary. When/if Assassin Inc. gets more of said ammunition, we can buy in bulk, right?

Force Master Hunter
Aug 6th, 2003, 09:28:32 PM
OOC -

50 actually, even-ish split. Yeah, once Assasins Inc gets more ammo, bulk purchaces will be done.

The resonable success of this thread sorta is prompting thoughts of a more permanent 'weapons and ammo' store, where a collection of normal weapons, armour, ammo, repairs and spares can be had. I'd keep a list of whats availible, with periodic top ups, with occasional random-ish red hot specials like this one. so, say in a few weeks there's a discovery of Mandorallian jet packs, 4 say. They would be sold off in a thread much like this, while normal items get sold / bought in another, more long runnign thread. Might make for some interesting barter for those interested.

Thoughts, comments?

OOC-

I like that idea quite a bit. And thanks for the conformation of ammunition amount, really appreciate that. Also, another question, will Assassin Inc. be coming into another cache of these weapons? If so, you can trust my character will pay for another, simply for a back up if this one ever jams, or say if a lightsaber cuts it in half.

Question..The loading process of the gun looks much like that of a shotgun, am I correct in this or totally off? Information about this would be appreciated.

Force Master Hunter
Aug 6th, 2003, 09:44:12 PM
OOC -

Yes, the loading process is shotgun.

As for coming into a new cache, that will be likely. A note when more are accquired will be made :) definatly after I collate the standard arms of Star wars and begin to trade properly.

One other thing I might do with this 'shop' is to also keep a list of bounties availible and how much is up for collection upon success. Also trade in rare items could be possible. Buy and sell.

Not... a bad idea actually. That might be worth it if we ever get a Distruptor in.

I thought Disruptors were banned on SWF?

?

imported_Marcus
Aug 6th, 2003, 10:25:51 PM
Not that I'm aware of. But hell, OOC and IC, it would have to go to a real resposible RP'er, IF we ever get one. May not, who knows.

Force Master Hunter
Aug 6th, 2003, 10:27:28 PM
But anyway, the bounty for a rare weapon or artifact is a good idea to follow up on.

Tirzak Kerr
Aug 6th, 2003, 10:30:08 PM
Just with the knowledge of that it's possible to have one, wow. And it makes sense to have that as a reward / part of one.

Cool idea...for both of us? :)

:lol

Allright, enough chit chat, who wants the final two Assault Guns? First in, best dressed!

ooc: ah but Arya looooves her disruptor rifle.

Disruptors are banned in the NR and by CorSec as well (although what CorSec is still around is operated under the control of TSO obviously since that is where they live.) I would hazard that Imperials have also banned them, but who knows. They take forever to recharge after one shot, so you better hit what you're aiming at, 'cause if you don't, you're toast. /ic:

Originally had a lightweight folding / detachable stock, but so far, just didnt look right. Still working on it

Did you think about modelling it off the Benelli Spas-12. It's a military and tactical shot gun, designed rather for eliminating human targets than game.

Force Master Hunter
Aug 7th, 2003, 10:05:26 AM
You mean the stock or the gun itself?

The gun's look itself was designed based on the Mossberg M590A1 pistol grip, being a military / law enforcement shotgun. If you want the truth, the look was selected because I liked the shot gun Hcks carried in Aliens :D

I figured as much.

Aug 7th, 2003, 10:42:20 AM
Ahh, I think the wood grain is what threw me off, a Synthetic pump and handle I think would be a better choice though I can't fault the quality and artwork of the weapon

The Empire will order five then for the price of twenty thousand credits, Imperial per unit. To be assigned to one squd of the Inquisitoriate Hunter Force Alpha.

OOC - - -

Disruptors are rare and were outlawed even by the Empire, though high ranking ISB and Inquisitoriate officials were issued them.
