What is the longest thread here at Sw-Fans? The longest one I could find is War is Imminent with just over 1,000 posts.

Quoted for great truth. This is the sort of thing that was making you not want to post OOC at SWFans anymore. There's no need for it.

Longest thread could either be defined by number of words or number of posts.

For once, Kraken actually posted a legitimate question. This is behavior we want to encourage instead of the usual spam.

Think positive reinforcement here.

As for longest thread for post-count, I think it would be "Weeeeee".

For content-length....it's probably "Sick Cycle Carousel" or "Carry the World" or one of those.

Just click "download thread", rename that download with .txt, copy from there and paste into MS Word, then do a word count. Using this method, the "War is Immiment" thread is 91,177 words long, so that would make each post an average of 83 words long.

The Wee thread is 227,532 words long, which makes each post an average of 35 words long.

I wonder how many words per thread "The Best Archer in Nottingham" has. I'll go find out.

This method also includes the markup (the poster's name, plus various other items) in the word count, so it's a bit inaccurate. Unless you feel like going through the thread and editing all of that out by hand, which could be tedious.

According to the word divided by post count method, Best archer has an average of 477 words per post.

Just count up how many of those unnecessary words there are in a post, and minus that number from your average. :)

letsee.. there's

time(date+time+am/pm), post number(post+#), name(most people have two words in their name), "swfans.net poster", style ('style'+stylename[most style names have 2+ words]), their time(Local+Time+time+am/pm),Reply, Edit, Quote, Online or offline.

Does it count numbers as words?

If it does.. that's

About 22 extra words per post... if they don't have any text quotes in their sig.

No it's not, it takes 15 seconds. Or did you think I meant count every word manually instead of using the word count button?

Lilaena De'Ville

I was referring to the downloading of the thread, opening it in word, etc etc... No I did not think you counted them all manually. :lol

The fastest way instead of "download thread" is using the "Show printable version."

:thumbup that is what I was thinking.
