Why was this (http://www.swforums.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31020) thread warned? Because it was getting heated?

Yep. Read your damn PMs. ;)

It's getting bettah. I'll unwarn it later.

EDIT: This is the first thread I have warned - was I suppossed to state why? I also think I sent a report to mods. Sorry for the hassle.

I thought that the warning was for swearing.

Is this correct? I thought it was also for this purpose, obviously.

Thread warnings, their use and their purpose: Link

FAQ addition material for section V maybe?

Yeah, so I'm cool. I was just thinking that. I was looking in the FAQ for it. We say we warn, but it means we warn the PERSON.

Maybe a section on thread warnings. Just basically what your link says? I think so.

Well, the thing is... warning a thread implies that it is close to getting closed. And we can't really close every single discussion that gets heated. People are arguing but, with few exceptions, personal insults are not being flung about.

Just my view, anyway.

Just my view, anyway. I'm leaning this way in this particular case right now too, but I'm a bit brain fried from doing some "re-finance my house" type stuff today.

I warned it because of the complaint I received. I actually thought of warning it since this morning.

I can unwarn it. Seems to have dwindled anyway.

I'm not saying you should change your decision (especially taking into account you were considering it before the complaint). I'm just stating my thoughts. Also in this particular case, warning it without any explanation could be quite confusing.
