Familiar Presence

Long had he awaited this day. He would finally return to his home, or so he hoped. Thrusters roared to life below the shuttle, stableizing it and slowly bringing it to rest on the durasteel deck inside the hanger at the station. It was the last shuttle due to arrive that day, and it seemed the most anticipated. On board with him were several other passengers returning home, but they had been expected. The hanger was filled with the joy and celebration of heartfelt reunion. Son reuinting with parents and husband with wife, brothers reuniting and long lost friends. He on the other hand went unnoticed. He was a living shadow, breathing darkness, nothing more than a familiar presence that noone could recognize.
It wasn't long before the celebration was behind him and he made his way to planetary control. He presented his ID card and the official entered it for processing. There was everything and anything there was to know about him on that card. In front of him stood a blastdoor and next to it were two lights a red and a green. If his background cleared the green was illuminated granting him entry into corellia. If not, things were going to get really difficult, really soon. The official glanced at him from time to time as the information flashed across the screen in front of her. As the scan completed, the ID card was ejected into the officials hand and the appropriate information was entered into her datapad. "Welcome back to Corellia, sir", the official said with a welcoming smile as the green light illuminated and the blast doors slowly slid open. He nodded and moved on through the doors onto bigger things. "Wait!", sounded a voice behind him, "You forgot your.........." Just then the card and that terminal burst into flames. Leaving no trace that he had ever been there.
Night had just fell over Corellia, and he knew he wouldn't make much progress until morning so the first thing on his agenda was a place to stay. He found himself infront of an old run down inn called "The Planetarium". It was very homey, and it was rumored to have been around since the old republic. Nonetheless, it was a place to rest his head and it would do just fine...................
