I've not long gotten back from a night out with some friends. We went off to a friedns 18th Birthday party and then me and two of my friends there went off to a club in town. I got home at 3:40 - its now 4:20am-ish!

How exactly does sleep work in this case? I'm in work for 8am, and so WOULD need to be up at 7am to be ready and fresh. But I've chosen not to go to bed as I believe I'll wake up groggy and tired.

Now how exactly does this work? Whenever I've gone to bed quite late when I'm up early the next day, I've ALWAYS felt like a back of crap. So if I stay awake (bearing in mind I'm wide awake right now) I should be alright with caffiene injections from cups of tea, right? Wrong? Either way, I'm going to find out right!? :p

Not tea, coffee. Unless you sugar up the tea really really bad like my mom does, and then it works. Sodas do well for that end too.

You'll probably be tired all day at work, but much less so than if you had gone to sleep and woken up 2.5 hours later. Try not to sit around doing the same thing for too long... you'll find that your eyes will get heavy, you'll close them for a few seconds and - BAM - next thing you know, there's a message on your machine telling you that you're fired.

Sugar will not keep you awake. Good Tea also has just about as much caffeine as coffee does, if not more.

Personally, I think the majority of caffeine's effects are all psychosemantic. Soda, unless consumed in vast amounts, doesn't really have enough caffeine to keep anyone awake when they're tired. It's a placebo effect.

heh, give me enough and I'll stay up till I crash like 1 pm the next day.....:crack

I think the longest I've ever stayed up was 27 hours from work, but when I went out to Las Vegas it was more like 45 and then I died for 4 hours and got up and went again...

depends on the person really...for example my friend, Crystal, would have the same as me, tired....me, wired.....

Placebo effect? Hey, swizzle. The caffeine is not in my soda. It's in my MIND! :D

I just need to stay awake for another 16 hours.

I think I'll have another glass of lilt - i would boil the kettle but I'll wake my mum up if I do that.

Hey, whatever it takes pal. Put on some headphones and listen to something with some energy. Upbeat/hyper sort of stuff.

my advice is to stay up. It's probably just me, but if I go to sleep and get any less than 6 or 7 hours, I'll wake up feeling nautious and/or with a really acidic stomach. I guess that my stomach does all its digestion when I'm asleep. So I'd stay up just to avoid a horrible stomach.

Of all the sodas I ever drank, I found some brands of Root-Beer work best at keeping you up, mainly Mug, and IBC. Don't drink Bargs though, that is nothing but junk that tastes like root-beer.

Root Beer? It's naturally decaffinated....

But, it's cool, if it helps you...:)
