Just recently I've been dabbling in small-job photomanipulations. But, inorder to further advance my skills I need a few and more commentary and/or suggestions.

Does the saber that the Rod in the background look remotely convincing enough?

Honestly? It looks more like he's holding a flare.

It's a good start, but it should, in my opinion look less flamey, and more solid.

Neat effect though.

I agree with Tujk; the blade needs to be solid-looking and glowy. But very good for a start :D I like how the hand is blurred to make it look closer to the camera (dunno if it was originally like that).

the objects in the sig don't seem to blend together in an attractive way. The lightsaber looks too corny, and it looks pretty obvious where the cut-and-paste jobs were.

That's a basic one... some people use Lightsaber Igniter Action... myself, i just play with Eye Candy 4000 in photoshop...

IMO that tutorial isn't very good.


I used to do em quite well, but that was in PSP, not PS.

Like I said Fett, it was basic... (and the only one my lazy butt found at the time).

From there I'm sure that Jared can develop his own style that looks good to his eyes.
