Weeeeeeee I'm getting a new refurbished dell deminsion computer in a few days. It has a P4 2530 ghz processor, 256 Ram which I'm upgrading to a gig, buying a 1024 mb sound card(maybe) Geforce 4 64 mb video card, which im selling and getting a Radeon 9800 - 256 mb video card. 40-60 gig hard drive (depending on whats avaible, CD 48x/DVD Cd drive with Windox XP home.

Buwahaha and for only about $550 =) SWG will lag no more! hehe :smokin

Dell = The Suck, IMO.. But nice choice, (aka Radeon 98k :))

If you know where to look online, and get the parts to make your own, you can get great deals. I'm getting one in two weeks that's a tick under what Ace's new one is and only for about 350-400 bucks.

Of the large desktop manufacturers, though, I'd rather deal with Dell than I would Compaq, HP, Gateway, Sony, etc. Dell makes solid laptops, too.


We haven't done a "List Your Computer Specs" thread for a while now... those are always fun.

Used to work as the Aust Dell production Manager, when Dell PC's were worth having - they were bloody good quality and quick. Then again, they had a production staff that knew WTF they were doing.

as I listed elsewhere, getting basically second hand parrts can give you one hell of a PC without much cash outlay. There is no need to buy the latest to get good performance, not by a long shot.

Well its a refurbished system. What dell does, is when you buy a computer, you have 30 days to send it back if you dont like it. So, they can't sell them as new, but they pretty much are. So they have this massive inventory of Refurbished systems. Its on their website. So naturally they have to cut down the price like 30% or so.
