View Full Version : A Vampire? In the Fortress? You must be suicidal!

Suicidal Salem Ave was not, just uneducated. The undead were not the most welcome species at the ShadowFaene Fortress. For one reason or another, the leaders seemed to have developed a dislike for them. Perhaps this was the reason for the attention the Sith Knight received as he stooped through the doorway of Poseidon’s Gate, hunching over to compensate for his unwieldy height. Of course all of those eyes on him could have been justified by the simple fact that he looked like some lanky great monster.

“One absss-ynthe.”

One hand comprised of three single talons drummed against the bar top, claws that could skewered flesh, stone and steel rattling loudly across the highly polished surface. The ‘tender shot Salem an awry look, but the Sith barely noticed, eyes wandering off around the room completely unnoticeably – without a visible iris or pupil, it was impossible to ascertain exactly where Ave was looking at any given time.

Tonight he was looking to meet with the Faene mistress but didn’t imagine for one second she was about to appear at his whim. He’d ride out some of the evening first – sample the local cuisine, get himself aquatinted with his surroundings. After all, he had hours until sunrise.

Ezra had been sitting back in his corner when he felt the "other" pressence enter. His nostrils flared as he smelled the other Vampyre. How dare they insult the Faene Mistress by entering her establishment! He was the onlyVamp allowed to roam the halls and thats how it would stay...He also vowed to protect them from any intrusion by another Vamp so long he lives. And He was not going to break his promise to her or anyone of the SFF.

' You, mystery guest have ventured into the wrong bar......and you have exactly five seconds to leave before I come for you '

He sent the other vampyre in their "whispering" thoughts. He watched the other as he got ready to make his words true.

Salem heeded threats. At least, he heeded threats delivered to his face. If someone was so craven as to lurk and speak from the shadows, they did not deserve to have their request carried out. Truth be told even if he’d been confronted face to face he wouldn’t have conceded.

The bartender didn’t seem to hear what was head, unsurprisingly, and handed the vampire his absinthe in a need little glass, which Salem shook a little, watching the green-blue liquid swirl around.

"You must be amazingly brave, or utterly stupid."

Ezra said as he appeared next to the other at the bar. His eyes were already their ice blue as he spoke. His hands slightly flexing, ready for anything.

" There's only two bloodsuckers Hera allows to walk these floors. One is me, the other's not you."

Brave or stupid. A Sith Knight could be as stupid as they liked, so long as they handled themselves in battle, Salem silently reasoned.

“What have I done to caussse any upssset? Surrrely you are not judging me becaussse others of my kind are senseless cretins. You may as well sss-ingle all humans as being weak if you’rrre going to make such generalizations - it'sss not an endearing personality trrrait,” the vampire purred in reply, taking a sip from his drink, not tone to his voice as he looked directly at Ezra.

Ezra's jaw set firmly and he hissed the next words between clenched teeth.

"See..... there is one slight little detail you forgot about all that mumbo jumbo you just dished out."

He leaned closer his eyes hardening up on the intruder.

"Hera doesn't give a damn."

The Knight simply stared back, wondering why this odd little man was getting so angry.

“I’d rrr-ather hearrr it from Hera herssself than one of her lackeys,” Salem replied, oblivious to the attempt to threaten him physically.

Ezra now bared his fangs at the insolent "little" worm.

"I promised her not another vampyre would ever step foot in here.....oh, and you wont be hearing anything from Hera."

With that Ezra kicked the stool out from under the lanky half-breed.

"You will learn soon enough why you dont EVER go out of your way to get a pureblood miffed you insolent mogur."

Ezra's use of the ancient curse word was evident he wasnt playing around, and especially the use of the empty barstool breaking across Salem's head and shoulders made that clear enough for him as well.

Having the bar stool then smashed over his head definitely did classify as annoying. He ducked back away, dipping his body into a position meant for quick movement. He didn’t quite see what the problem was – nor did he understand the pureblood nonsense, but if this idiot wanted to fight him, so be it.

Swiping out a clawed hand, palm forward, Salem called upon the Darkside and sent a Force push into Ezra, knocking the vampire backwards – equal force only. If there was still minute chance that he could come out of this with but a word edgeways with Hera, he needed to make sure he was only stopping this other vampire from attacking him, not attacking full force in return.

Unless necessary.

Ezra laughed at the half-breed as he stopped himself from the force push. The he glared back menicingly.

"You half-breeds are worthless!! Your use of force techniques gives me no respect for you at all.... You have the gift to use but you turn your back to it.."

He walked forward.

"And for your cowardice, I will show you no mercy."

He charged the other vampyre and slashed at him with extended nails he used as talons.

An eye for an eye.

By now the whole bar would be watching, no doubt, and security would be on their way to deal with the disturbance. The Force was the young vampires ally, however, and with it at

Salem’s hand, three single talons alone, snapped up to meet Ezra’s swipe. The stone-hard pincers formed a vice grip around the vampires wrist before tearing it out to the side, at which point the Sith Knight ducked his body low, driving his free hand against his opponents solar plexus.

His free hand caught the other's swinging arm as his talons just pierced his chest. And he pulled him in to show a fang filled smile. Ezra loved pain and it made him more formadible a foe than he usually would. He pulled the taller Vampyre downward and delivered a knee to his jaw, then thrust the bent lower half which was clad in a steel toed boot into Salem's abdomen sending the vampyre into a table.

Ezra touched his chest and brought up his blood covered fingers and licked them with a sadistic grin.

Ezra barely had time to savor his moment of respite before he was vaulted off of his feet. Salem, who had stumbled back into a table, raised both hands – with palms facing the ceiling – back over his shoulders and as a result the vampire Ezra followed their motions. As he rushed forward, the Force dragging him relentlessly, Salem leapt out of the way and into the air, landing seconds later on Ezra’s shoulders, his claws snapping around the ‘purebloods’ neck as his boots drove hard against his shoulders in an attempt to wrench the vampires head from his body.

Ezra braced himself from going all the way to the floor with a bent knee. He stood back up and growled loudly as he gripped the other's wrists and turned towards the bar, Ezra quickly lurched forward while still holding the other's wrists firmly driving Salem face first into the bartop, then flipped him off his shoulders to rake his talons across his face.

Walking into Poseidon's Gate, Hera was not surprised to see a brawl. To see Ezra was one of the participants, was a little surprising, but she failed to show it in her face.

Nodding to the bar tender who had immediately seen her arrive, she ordered her usual and took a seat at the edge of the bar, out of reach of the frackus.

Other patrons of the bar were finally reacting to the sudden outbreak of violence amidst them, and were moving their chairs so as to be able to continue their drink in peace. Others, who were sober enough were taking bets..those who weren't as lucid, were making them.

The barman set her drink into her hand, avoiding a boot to the face from one of the vamps...who's, exactly, he couldnt be sure...and jerked his head in the fighters direction.

"Is it still "winner pays the repairs?"

Hera nodded in the affirmative and added in explanation.

"Cant pay if your'e dead, now can you."

Twisting Ezra’s own technique around to throw it back in his face, Salem caught the weaker claws with his own formidable talons – talons that scythed flesh, stone and metal with little effort – and hurled Ezra over the bar. Salem recoiled from the bar, dragging his cloth-wrapped forearm over his face to brush away what debris and dust was left from the impact with the counter top.
