Okay we are past the half way point. It should get interesting this weekend. Two debuts, One comes out today Pirates of the Carribean staring Johnny Depp, Geofrey Rush, and Orlando Bloomand the other is League of Extradorian Gentleman staring Sean Connery. I am not going to bother to count POTC's first two days, we didn't decide upon it at the beginning and its too late now. So only three day gross for it. Okay you have until 9AM on Saturday to get your picks in, good luck.

Jul 12th, 2003, 10:07:04 PM

sirdizzy
Jul 13th, 2003, 12:17:46 PM
oooooooooooooooohhhhh you guys want the bad news

1 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl $46,400,000
2 The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen $23,250,000
3 Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines $19,615,000
4 Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde $12,000,000
5 Finding Nemo $8,200,000

this means i am a lock on the #2 and #3 picks since i am the only one to get the top 5 order right, it also means it looks like i got the #1 and #5 pick as well and i still have a chance at the #4 pick if the estimate is high on legally blonde if it comes in at 11.75 or lower it is mine

that means i am most likely going to take 4 out of 5 and still have a good chance at a clean sweep

MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 13th, 2003, 08:29:29 PM
Actually Marcus should win Nemo unless the estimate is low, also if that estimate is low on POTC by about 500 thousand then I win in it, I am only 3 million off right now you are 2.2 million off. Also if anything I bet that LB2 is low.

sirdizzy
Jul 13th, 2003, 10:44:39 PM
no marcus is in at 8.52, i am at 8.0 i am leading i win as long as it doesn't go to 8.27

just wish me a clean sweep ok we'll all be happy then right

sirdizzy
Jul 13th, 2003, 10:46:48 PM
oh and for you to win pirates it need to come in at 46,900,001 which is quite a jump since more often then not the estimates are too high its more likely to dip then to gain

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 13th, 2003, 11:01:46 PM
No Marcus has it at 8.3 look at his guesses. Also the estimates can be off by 500 thousands it happens all the time. We will see what happens tomorrow.

sirdizzy
Jul 13th, 2003, 11:40:44 PM
darn 3 instead of 5, well darn it all i will just have to hope the estimate for nemo is off .051

i think it would be so cool though if i clean sweeped everything, i don't think its ever happened before

and hey with 3 wins (2 pretty much guarnteed) and the order correctly i should be in 1st place this time tommorow

I'm trying to get back in contention.

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:20:08 PM
Your not out of it yet, I think the rest of the contest is going to be hard to predict with not really any huge movies coming out unless you count Bad Boys 2 and Tomb Raider 2.

CMJ
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:34:23 PM
Tomb Raider 2?! You're kidding right? :p

That has crash and burn all over it.

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:36:07 PM
Well that is my opinion I see it doing like CA 2 another movie nobody liked. Why make a sequel to a movie most people hated.

sirdizzy
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:45:34 PM
whos your daddy yea thats right whos your daddy

whos in first now baby

sirdizzy
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:46:50 PM

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:48:42 PM
Well I thought the first one sucked and I have no interest in even renting TR 2. Seabiscuit looks more appealing to me.

sirdizzy
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:52:36 PM
seabiscuit looks ridiculous to me i been meaning to beat up cmj for that sig of his for awhile now

i think everyone will go to how to deal instead LOL that looks like a movie that makes you want to tear your eyeballs out and eat them to save them the pain

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 14th, 2003, 09:58:33 PM
Dizzy you better watch out CMJ might hunt you down for that remark ;)

sirdizzy
Jul 14th, 2003, 10:02:13 PM
the movie just looks so stupid though, i think i would almost rather sit through how to deal or maybe see freddy got fingered again then see seabiscuit

i may be wrong the movie may be good but it just looks so stupid in the trailers

i am not a horseracing fan i have trouble seeing the point of hroseracing other than gambling purposes and a movie about it just isn't that appealing to me

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 14th, 2003, 10:06:51 PM
Well I disagree but hey you are allowed to have your opinion on it. I think it looks like a Rocky crossed with a Field of Dreams myself.

sirdizzy
Jul 14th, 2003, 10:24:56 PM
so one clique crossed with another clique all revolving around horseracing

ok yep thats what i thought

CMJ
Jul 15th, 2003, 06:26:42 PM
Dude, it was seriously one of the best books I've ever read. Cliche or not...it did happen, and it's a remarkable story.

But that wasn't even the original point. The original "Tomb Raider" was simply a horrible film IMHO, and I have absolutely no desire to see the sequel.

sirdizzy
Jul 15th, 2003, 09:19:50 PM
theres a book to this movie, ok i just thought it was based on some true event

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 15th, 2003, 09:26:35 PM
Yeah there was a book first and to me the trailers look great but you are entilted to your opinion.

CMJ
Jul 15th, 2003, 10:44:22 PM
Well it WAS a true event. Laura Hillenbrand then wrote a hugely successful bestseller about the horse in Spring of '01, and it's been on the NY Times Best seller list every week since(over 2 years now).

And it's a damn fine read. It is a great story, but that lady can write a yarn, lemme tell ya. Her style is really engrossing.
