...who has actually done something productive? Worthwhile? Anyone?

Let's see, I've gone to Island of Adventures, and I'm going to the beach next week, I've gotten up gone running, dribbling the soccer ball, swimming, sunbathing, slept most of it away... and work... anyone have any exciting summer plans?

5 weeks of Thermodynamics... lessee... that is about... 20+ hours a week including lecture, tests, and homework. Thaknfully, that is over with!

Part time job, averaging 20-30 hours a week.

Washed the superprix, as I call it yesterday and cleaned out my grand prix. Washed some windows, played halo, LANed, went to a few movies, and a few people's houses. Having a party tomorrow after workage. ^_^

Thing to look forward to: Orientation at SUNY Binghamton, hopefully a trip to Darien Lake *or to Cedar Point.. really wanna go there* Trip up to the Caresoul Mall in Syracuse, maybe a trip to Canada with some friends... a Baltimore Oriole's game with my dad and brother... That's about it.

Marcus Telcontar

Lady Mylia
Jul 3rd, 2003, 09:41:49 PM
Wow, LoL~ this place is very good at topic switching! We call those hats "beanies" here... even though we might get a chance to wear them...once a year?

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 3rd, 2003, 10:29:42 PM
Topic switching? It's called thread hijacking. You have some absolute Masters of the Hijack here. We're so good that there is even a special catagory for our best Hi-jacks - thread wreck. This is where the hijackers so completely and utterly destroy a thread, there is no redeeming it. A genuine thread wreck is a sight to behold and DEFINATLY not normally suitable of children, plus funny enough to rupture spleens.

Dae Jinn
Jul 3rd, 2003, 10:41:38 PM
And it usually involves Marcus getting naked, a hose and gallons of whipped cream.

:mischief *shakes up a can of whipped cream*

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 3rd, 2003, 10:52:59 PM
Does not! Navaria started the last thread wreck!

.....

Okay, she might of started it, but I definatly made it go straight to thread hell

Dae Jinn
Jul 3rd, 2003, 10:54:51 PM
Nav rarely starts thread wrecks, my dear Mr Elessar, whereas you've been involved in nearly all of them.

*pops the cap off the whipped cream can and sprays Mark all with it* :D

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 3rd, 2003, 11:08:04 PM
Hey, there's only been three authentic and signed thread wrecks. I have not started any of them!

Dae Jinn
Jul 3rd, 2003, 11:11:24 PM

;; does trademark Dasquian :o which will inevitably, as with every threadwreck, lead to some woman molesting Dasquian ;;

Lady Mylia
Jul 4th, 2003, 05:00:33 AM
Wow, a thread wreck... where can I find those threads? I wanna see the chaos... the destruction... LoL~ anyway... so right now there is whipcream, and molesting.... what's next?

Marga Alton
Jul 4th, 2003, 08:41:52 AM
*grabs Das since he asked and throws him into a room filled with nude women, all of whom are looking like Xazor*

Back on topic for a brief second,

I'm gonna be in school every weekday morning except for hopefully a week where I'll get to kick back and relax while out camping.

Now to get back to our regularly schedualed thread hijacking.

*grabs can of whip cream and starts to spray the room with it, but mainly Marcus*

And I haven't had a togue(sp?) on since I was a little kid.

Lady Mylia
Jul 4th, 2003, 09:07:52 AM

I'm gonna need a toque for this winter cause I should be going someplace which actually gets snow. Real snow, and not the 2 mm which we get here.

Dae Jinn
Jul 4th, 2003, 01:02:59 PM
Come here! We had ice covered snow and it was like being an elf!!!! :D

I've always called them toques. Terran told me that a toque is like, some weird hat from the 1800's or something. Just to try to prove me wrong! :shakefist!

Mylia -- the biggest thread wreck is "About Chase" or something like that. That thread was SO funny! :)

Alpha

I used to be in the same boat as you Marcus. I grew up not know what snow was, and then one year, I found out and man did I have fun.

And Dae, sounds like you have fun where you live, getting snow and all. Though with snow, don't you like have to shovel it or something??

Tujk
Jul 5th, 2003, 01:05:11 PM
Come visit me in oooh... about 5 months... then you'll see snow.

You'll also be introduced to warmer clothes than you thought existed.

Jul 5th, 2003, 09:28:11 PM
I remember when some of my college roommates saw snow for the first time. They were all excited while the rest of us couldn't care less.

Dae Jinn
Jul 5th, 2003, 09:36:59 PM
It's not too thrilling when you get it every winter, Natia. I don't like the cold (or the extreme heat either, lol). I don't shovel it unless I absloutely have to.

And Marcus, go into your freezer, scrape off some of the icey build-up et voila! Snow :p.

imported_Natia Telcontar
Jul 6th, 2003, 09:14:36 AM
I'd love to come and visit, but I'll probably be in school or visiting my parents (where they will have snow.)

I'm sure it would be thrilling though if you never get snow. The extreme heat though is something I could live without. Mind you, I do live without it.

And I'm guessing that I can't go around in shorts and a t-shirt in snow.

imported_Jacali Danner
Jul 6th, 2003, 12:31:04 PM
I don't like snow, it's cold and wet and is terrible to drive in. A couple of years ago, I fell asleep at the wheel on my way home off 3rd shift and ended up stuck in a snow bank. I really hate it. I'd be very happy with 70-75 degree weather all year round....

imported_Natia Telcontar
Jul 6th, 2003, 06:33:38 PM
70-75 degrees?? That's kinda hot isn't it?? The hottest(sp?) it gets here is about 30-32 degrees. And then we're really cooking.

Lady Mylia
Jul 6th, 2003, 08:55:58 PM
70 or 75 hot?! I would love it to be 70 or 75 all the time! At 11 PM right now, It's 79 degrees F! Just think of what temp it is at noon here during the day... today the high was 97 degrees...

Bryher Conway
Jul 6th, 2003, 10:35:46 PM

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 7th, 2003, 12:51:20 AM
In summer, my place outside got to 47C - that's about 120F I think. It regularly breaches 43 - 44 C. 35C in summer is resonably cool.

Morgan Evanar
Jul 7th, 2003, 11:06:11 PM
Jeez, it only gets to about 105 (40) here. I don't want to even think about 43/44.

PS: the weather people lie about the temperatures here, add 5-10 degrees during the summer for the truth. All in the name of tourism, wrar!

Lady Mylia
Jul 11th, 2003, 06:05:43 AM
O_o Wow, *is gonna stop complaining about the hotness here*

Aaron Belargic
Jul 11th, 2003, 12:18:21 PM
Yeesh, and I thought 21 C was hot

Marcus Telcontar
Jul 11th, 2003, 06:54:39 PM
21C is a nice witer's day.

Now that puts it into presepective, dont it? Places that think 21C is hot in mid summer, that's only a nice winter's day here. Some days in winter can reach 27 - 28 C. Granted, that's thats only once or twice per winter, but 20C is about a decent average. It gets on average to 2C overnight.

The outer west of Sydney is almost classified as semi arid, it misses out cause there is usually enough rain. This year, it's been a very nasty drought. That's why it's been, even for here, unusually hot. I was outside trying to get a windscreen out of a car (had to, no choice) and it was staggering how much water was sucked out of me. I literally drank a 2L bottle of Coke in one hit and STILL needed more.

So, i have no concept on how cold places get that can get snow. But I am very well aware how hot a desert can get :D

Alpha
Jul 11th, 2003, 08:26:46 PM
lol. I LIVE in a desert, and it still don't get that hot...

Ryla Relvinian
Jul 13th, 2003, 03:13:55 PM
*Pout* It never ever snows around here. I think the last time it actually snowed and stuck was around...8 years ago. It just rains and rains. Pretty nice, actually. (Spoken like a true Portlander, I know.) All the rain means that it's incredibly green all the time, which is great.

The temperature today is around 73F (22C, methinks) and it's nice and sunny. I spent the morning so far making a blueberry pie with the blueberries from my back yard. Sounds like a productive summer to me!

Lady Mylia
Jul 16th, 2003, 05:33:05 AM
