Looks like We are all wrong about Sinbad, I wonder if it will crack the top 5? Man is this another blow for traditional animation?

I thought Sinbad was CG. What i think it really shows is that people just will not accept anything less than what Pixar have given us. Pixar has rised the standard of animation to a level that really, is hard to top. Great stories, memorable characters, snappy and good scripts, eye candy galore.

Pixar's name sells.

The reviews for Sinbad are less than stellar and to me, the trailers sucked. Okay it LOOKS like traditional animation, but frankly, that's not here nor there - Pixar knows how to do it, everyone else has to catch up or suffer.

Hey, if Sinbad had a violently funny trailer like Ice Age, there would be a bigger opening, I bet.

Sinbad looked tradional to me, it has similar animation to Treasure Planet which had an equally bad box office. I also think there isn't an audience the movie doesn't seem to interest children under 10 and kids over 10 don't want to go to see it, it is like Treasure Planet a bad idea. If you are going to do Sinbad you are better off doing a live-action version I think that would work better.

and on side notes finding nemo will pass Matrix for #1 movie of the year as its estimates are 274 million and Matrix's are 271 million

also hulk got up to 117 million and i hope it will make it to 150

T3 Budget: 200 mil + 40 mil marketing
HULK Budget: 137 mil + 35 mil marketing

T3 3 Days : 44 mil
HULK 3 days: 62.1 mil
I think Hulk could end up doing better than T3, depending on next week.

It will depend on several things how it drops and how each do overseas, IMO.

sirdizzy
Jul 7th, 2003, 01:25:57 PM
well T3 has a lot more money to make up, thats an extra 62 million to make

and comsidering they only get %50 back from the theatres it will need to do more than a 130 million dollars than hulk to be more profitable

i don't think T3 will even break even and be a possitive money maker tell it hits the video stores

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 7th, 2003, 08:29:22 PM
Still if it is a huge hit overseas it it could do it sooner, its really hard to say there, I am think T3 will make 130-150 right now if it can make around 200 overseas it will probably break even before the DVD comes out.

Jedi Master Carr
Jul 7th, 2003, 08:30:15 PM
And Actually the Studios get back 70% in the first like 2 weeks and T3 might make most of its money then (probably around 100), so I think it will make a profit.
