They are telling me that I can never ever acknowledge that I was ever a Shrine/Coven Vampyre again starting the moment I left civily OOC. I have played this character for three years and because they want control over everything.. I can't acknowledge ANYTHING about her. They are throwing a fit over my sig, granted that is understandable and shall be fixed.. that i have no problem, but I am not giving up what I worked three years to do.

I want a ruling

Yes I know their storyline is protected but since I played with them for three years, I eared that three years of their storyline

I don't understand why you leaving the group means that you cease to exist IC to them? I dont' understand...wouldn't you leaving the group and then ceasing to be able to acknowledge that you were ever there...woudln't that fuck up their precioussssss ssstoryline even more???

My official stance is that its been RPed out, its part of your history, and like it or not, you're a part of their storyline. They'll just have to live with the fact that Miranda was part of the Shrine, and then left. I don't understand them.

Thank you for responding fast LD, I have been fidgeting since I had to bring this to the staff for ruling. I feel stupid for doing it but it needs to be done.

I wanted to add also, to be fair... I did edit my post to make it past tense. I was IC making her a member of the Shrine and rping out why she left, but if they were going to whine, I made it past tense so that way my backstory can't be touched. And, my sig has been changed.

edit - sigh, I am sick tonight and all my thoughts are jumbled and this should have been put here. I PMed Saurron and Alana, that I changed it to past tense and my sig. But I will not edit my post to remove anything and all that is referred to the Shrine.

funny note, the Vamps just edited their FAQ to include that if someone leaves they can't acknowledge any shrine stuff :| I might be back to square one with this depending on what Saurron has to say

Forcing a former member to erase their backstory is ludicrous.

Note: I didn't wrire the addendum they added to that first FAQ statement of theirs, in fact I had no idea it was added until now.

anyway, fyi after discussing with ogre, I edited my post and left my new sig without shrine stuff in .. because there was no need to edit my post in the first place. Either way, I will still keep the staff informed of what this compromise is that I wasnt a part of to discuss :lol

The Srhine added a new clause to my proposed rule in their FAQ.
"~ It is a violation of our FAQ's of the Shrine and the Coven to run a Vampire Char. that is in any way related to the Shrine or any of its members without the express permission of the Shrine Council. As all other forums here at SWfans we respect the individuality of each group. Please respect ours. If an RPer is found in violation of creating a Vampire Char. related to the Shrine or any Shrine member without permission or admittance here at the Shrine by the whole Council, appropriate action will be taken and reported immediately to the SWfans Admin's. ~"

***This also pertains to Newbie Vamps and current members that leave the Shrine /Coven as stated above***If this added rule is going to be used on members that leave their group after having once been accepted, I will not supprt them trying to strip said character's of their past history. I'm not going to start another debate on it for the Shrine members because we already kow that they cannot debate things, nor can they understand reason. However, if they come to the staff in regards to this rule, then it would be best we discuss it before any ruling is moved on, because stripping someone of past hard work and backstory just isn't right no matter how you slice it.

And that isnt fair. No matter how you look at it, you are in your history. It isn't like you're going to keep mentioning them to be insulting, is it? I mean FFS, we dont even "erase" banned members!


Furthermore, I don't think they can. I can post a RP and name every single Jedi, Sith and Group and noone can stop me (barring the odd reason). Hence, they cannot say that you can't mention them. They don't own copyright or anything.

Ogre - IM window has some intersting information about Anne Rice and her displeasure of fanfiction :\ I dont know if it is still valid but the Shrine's use of Ashiva and saying they based their Vamps on Anne Rice could be REALLY bad.

Granted, we have been under the radar since that has been said, I know saurron and his gang of vamps were around before that. I just wish that anne's sight wasnt down so I could see if that was still on her site. Just not good IF she finds out >_<
