OOC: This is open but I’m going to ask for a few guidelines to be followed.

1. No killing the band.
2. No massive bloodbath.
3. No fighting, if possible – it’s meant to be a character interaction RP.
4. Keep in posting order (i.e. if there’s a few people wait and let people post.

The scene – Coruscant city, the eastern quarter. A warehouse venue, small enough to make the event personal. Outside lines trail around the block as people cue up to get inside of the buzzing building – some hoping to buy off cheap tickets. All along the line vendors try to peddle fake merchandise, which people hungrily gobble up as they pull on their tour shirts and wave their glow sticks in the air. Groups of girls have big home-made banners with ‘WE LOVE FIGGS’ or ‘SANDERSON ROCKS MY WORLD’ written in huge letters on them. Already plastic cups of cheap cider are being passed around, while others smoke off some interesting looking tobacco to get themselves in the mood.

Above the sound of the warehouse speakers playing the latest Jump Lanes album, its hard to hear anything. Hayes, who stands alone near the back of the cue – having just pulled up in a cab – looks around trying to spot a familiar face. There’re a few in the crowd, who are regular attendees of the bands gigs, whilst a lot of new faces he doesn’t recognize seem to be present. The age rage is from early teens to late 40s – it seems everyone and their uncle can get into the Lanes.

The Jedi Padawan sidles up to the back of the line – in an hours time the band would come on stage, after the opening act had warmed the crowd up. For about half of that hour Hayes reckoned he would be outside in the cold, although he didn’t mind it – the atmosphere was electric and he loved every minute of it.

Had it not been for one already present Jedi Padawan, Abagael would have been stuck at home, watching the gig on the music channel. Instead, she now found herself engulfed in the crowd of screaming fans, young and old, who were equally thrilled to be here. She herself wasn’t the bearer of any glitter-ridden sign, like a group of giddy teenage girls beside her, but she certainly wasn’t without advertisement. Expressantly dressed down in a pair of jeans and a white concert tee, emblazoned with bold red type, Abagael fit right in with the keyed-up crowd.

SPACED OUT AND SPASMOLYTIC

For a mere 500 credits she’d bought a ticket to the sold-out show, which Abby considered to be a miracle. It was nearly impossible to get tickets to the Jump Lanes once they box office opened, and she felt sadistically lucky as she watched those who hadn’t been as fortunate, scramble around looking for scalpers.

As she stood outside, jostled by the crowd, Abby looked over the bundle of species, hoping to find someone—alright, hoping to find a certain someone—who knew her. She nearly missed Hayes, as a tall Rodian stepped in front of her, but he moved quickly and she was able to confirm her sights.

“Hayes! Over here!”

Abagael waved enthusiastically, standing on her tip toes to try and make herself more visible in the hustle and bustle.

The voice just reached Hayes over the noise and he leant to the side, out of the line, to try and spot Abby – careful not to leave the queue, knowing someone would gladly fill his space if he stepped out for but a moment. A swarm of girls suddenly appeared out of no where, screaming and bawling, tricked into believing that Figgs and co were in the stretch limo that was just passing.

Scrambling and trying not to be trampled into the ground, the Padawan waved for Abby to come join him higher up in the line – much to many peoples disapproval. A little nod and squeeze of her hand in greeting.

“Hey! Nice shirt!”

He squinted as he spoke, barely able to hear himself shouting.

She gave a little shriek as the horde of hormonal teenagers pushed by her, lifting her arms up so there was more room for them to get by before reaching Hayes. She glanced down at her shirt and laughed. It was stretched out from too much wear, and the letters were faded a bit from continuous washing.

“Old shirt, you mean. It’s so ratty; I should really toss it out. Of course what I should do and what I do do are two entirely different things.”

It was hard to speak over the noise, one had to scream as loud as they could. But Abagael knew that this was only a fraction of the noise that was going to follow when the concert started. As soon as the band started to play it was going to get absolutely frantic; even now there was a sense of unrestrained and out of control expectancy that was mind numbing.

“Isn’t this wild?!”

Already there had been one punch-up, further up the line, over a dispute whether some tickets were counterfeit or not. Now they had pitched an even larger party of bouncers on the door. It was mostly because of this that the line was moving a bit faster now. People were being let in, or turned down as the case me be, and filled into the single open hall.

There was a bar on the far right of the room, tucked away into the corner, while the rest of the room was completely empty save for the stage. Guards ringed the platform, where the bands equipment was already set up. Knowing the Lanes, the floor would get pretty frantic and people would be surfing their way along the crowd within the first few minutes of the concert kicking off.

By the time Abby and Hayes were being ushered in the room was already half full. Hayes was a little miffed about the fact that although his tickets had given seat numbers there were none to be found – but reasoned that after a little while in the crowd he’d be on cloud nine.

Inside the speakers were even louder, and the collective voice of the fans could be heard singing along with the lyrics up until, and on after, the music died away. The support came on to a warm applause and began playing out a few tunes that had just come onto the market, none of which Hayes recognized. Thankfully they were pretty mellow for the first few numbers, and he could now actually hear. Still, he bobbed his head appreciatively.

“You want to get something from the bar before it gets busy?”

Abby nodded her head as they listened to the front band, who for some reason just didn’t strike her fancy. Pushing through the ever-growing crowd the two made their way to the bar and slipped in line, the numbers growing behind them. The people behind the setup were hurrying as fast as they could, trying to keep orders straight as they were yelled from every spot along the counter. It was apparent that they were used to working in these conditions though, for they were quick and efficient and in no time at all Hayes and Abagael were next to place their desired requests.

“I’ll have a beer please!”

The vendor cocked his head and pointed to his ear, indicating he hadn’t heard, which wasn’t a surprise. Abby leaned in closer and raised her voice a decibel.

“Brewsky!”

He nodded and the looked at Hayes, waiting for the man to place his order. Abby meanwhile was watching a trio of middle aged aliens in the midst of an epileptic dance; it was rather uncoordinated and ‘floopy’, but their was a sort of vague familiarity. Abagael watched for a few more minutes, closely and then laughed.

“I think they’re trying to do the Nova!”

The dance had been a popular one years ago, that could be set to almost any genre of music, and when it had been in style Abby’d thrown herself into it with gusto—of course, her friends and self had never looked as these blokes did which was fortunate. But whatever got your gander up…

Hayes held back a laugh as he watched the group sway and jive, others around them too joining in – as the kooky dance swept through the over-excitable crowd like wildfire. Deciding to make special lenience for the Lanes, Hayes ordered in what Abby had and watched the crowd, laughing, until the two bottles were handed out. Some people had brought their own drinks, eh noted, and carried huge plastic bottles of something brown – it was a foam party just waiting to happen.

Back into the fray and the support were cheered off stage in no time as the tannoy sounded off that the Lanes were just about to come on. When the group appeared it would have been hard for anyone within a mile to no realize. A huge cheer went up, as cups were thrown into the air and the signs snapped up to attention.

“Good evening, Coruscant!!”

Figgs voice was cocooned by the screams of his fans, as he complacently looked out at the crowd. Everyone was waving their arms, trying to get his attention. He laughed and took a drag from his cigarette before nodding to the rest of the band behind him. Sanderson counted in, before the cracking Blah Blah Blah opened the show, sending a wave of orgasmic excitement through the bouncing moshpit.

Hayes’ ears hurt from the sudden burst of bass, but his head was going like everyone elses, and he air-drummed along with Sandersons, “YEAH”ing in Abby’s direction.

It was ridiculous how the crowds went insane when the band came on. They were screeching and screaming like ninnies, reaching up desperately trying to touch one of the members, waving paper and pens in the hopes of getting an autograph. Abby snorted and shook her head. But then she spotted Sanderson, and almost dropped her beer.

“Ohmigod! I love you Joe!Ah!”

She was jumping up and down just as fast as anyone else there and as he started his rhythmic drumming she raised a hand in the air, pumping her fist with adoring enthusiasm. She yelled the lyrics out with Hayes and a billion other beings, the group's sincerely energized performance flying through the fans like wildfire.

"Whooooo!"

Her throat was already getting scratchy, but the heavy beer made for a temporary solution, soothing it easily as the beverage level was slowly lowered. It seemed that Hayes was just as into the song as she, bouncing around with his 'drums' going full-force. Abby joined in with guitar.

A low-toned jeer went up through the crowd – including Hayes - as all of the males rushed with testosterone at the sight of Jenny Taylor in a PVC corset, laying into her guitar. Dirty-blonde hair and lips you could loose yourself all night in. She whirled about on the stage with hips swaying, body curving up and down as her counterpart Mihael Darkon – the huge Rodian – bounced up and down on his toes, leading the crowd in their raucous singing.

Someone had already managed to surf right into Tito, before getting carted off back into the throng by bouncers. Hayes, caught up by the song, seized up Abby, arms around her waste and – in the vivacious style Jenny Taylor had begun – bumped, ground and let the music, adrenaline and occasional swig of beer guide him.

She'd dropped her drink in the frenzy but it was the least of her concerns. Abagael followed Hayes' lead enthusiastically, gyrating with gusto as the beat was burned into her head. There was no seeing, no thinking, just pure and complete madness; in the thick of it all, bumping into youngin’s, smacking into oldies, but moving in complete unison together were two very hyped Jedi Padawans. It was a fresh change from the tame atmosphere of the Temple.

One of the show lights blew, showering sparks down onto the band and crowd, and sending a chorus of shrieks up from the mosh pits. Some bands would have haltered, but the Jump Lanes only took it as a cue and revved up even louder, much to the delight of the devotees.

The song seemed to go on forever and just when Abagael was about to cry uncle, it climaxed and game to an end, only to be chased by the opening chords of Captain Coruscant. A cheer was let out, and Figgs’ voice was drowned out for a moment. Abby laughed and clapped, one arm still draped around Hayes’ neck.

Darkon had vanished off-stage for a minute or two, leaving Jenny and Tito to fill up the empty space he’d left. When he re-emerged, the Rodian was in a mock-up costume made from red, white and blue spandex with stars spangled all over the place. His guitar had changed and was now painted to look just like the Captains shield – the Rodian even brandished it like it, strumming away as he hopped up onto one of the stage amps.

“If we could trade all of our tomorrows
For the best of our yesterdays
Erase all the pain and the sorrow
Would there have to be a high price to pay
Hey Heyyyowwwww!”

The axing frenzy carried on and Hayes decided to go for it. He took a few steps forward and tugged on a guys arm. With a jerk of his thumb upwards he was being vaulted up above everyone else, and landed – thankfully – on the hands waiting below, bobbing up and down as he was wriggled steadily forward.

"Oh my God, you're crazy!"

Abby laughed loudly, watching as Hayes was passed around like an order of chili fries. He was getting closer and closer to the stage, lolled out on the sea of appendages like a king, and she found herself jumping up and down to keep sight of him. It was on one such jump that the twi’lek next to her mistook it as a sign that she wanted to join in. He grabbed her firmly around the waist and gave her a boost of momentum, passing her along to the waiting throng.

“Krasst! No, no, I didn’t….”

The rest of her words trailed off as she was prodded in the stomach, a burst of laughter shooting unceremoniously from her mouth. Abagael surrendered and stopped struggling, finding the sensation both odd and satisfying.

“I am a great golden goddess!”

Over the fray of hands in front of him he could just about see the band weaving about on stage. Closer and closer they got until his toes were touching the stage … and then a big burly mans hands were on him. For a brief second he was stood on the stage as he was passed, man-handled even, off to the side and dropped down with the rest of the awestruck fans who were trying desperately to get another shot at their 2 seconds on the stage.

Hayes saw Abby was still sailing, and it looked like she had attracted quite a bit of attention. Costumed-clad Darkon was cheering her on as he played, and looked as though he was going to yank her up onto the stage.

Hayes jaw dropped.

She felt a hand close around her wrist, and then quite suddenly she was standing upright…

And staring at a pit of screaming beings. Startled, Abby spun around and found herself face to face with Mihael Darkon. Her legs went to jelly and a red blush spread over her face, much to the amusement of the guitarist. The giddy woman gave a cursory wave to her fellow concert-goers and nearly went deaf as they shouted back in unwavering support.

Great frelling hey!

She couldn’t think of anything intelligent to say, and she almost fainted when she caught the eye of Sanderson, he giving her a playful wink. Abby didn’t have time to collapse though as Darkon broke off from from his solo and shouted something to her. She grinned and nodded enthusiastically, though she hadn’t heard him; he laughed and started to leap around the stage. No one seemed to be coming to drag Abby off the stage and she was beginning to feel very self-conscious. She glanced in the general direction of where Hayes had been ‘escorted’ off, searching the crowd for his face frantically. A waving of arms alerted her and she craned her neck, pointing excitedly at him.

“Hayes!”

Her voice was washed away by the music, but Byzanco leaned in closer to her. Abby swooned for a minute and then shouted in his ear, pointing at Hayes through the exchange. He looked where she was pointing and then nodded. Motioning with her hand, Abby waved frantically to come aboard.

Just waving back, bouncing on his toes, Hayes couldn’t stop laughing. He watched Jenny Taylor give Abby a cursory glance before shooting a look directly at him – he could have sworn at least. If this was some part of the gig with crowd involvement, he sure as frell wanted to be up there on it. Scrambling forward through the crowd, he found a hand of a guard hauling him up, presumably at someone’s request.

The song took a turn he’d not expected then, with Hilor and Jenny taking center stage, each dragging Abby and Hayes, respectively, forward by a hand. There was something like a ‘lets give it up for – and – guys’, with most words drowned out, before a new chord was strummed and …

Hayes felt faint.

The two vocalists shimmied in against their fans, both of whom seemed unable to move, and gave them and encouraging nod as they purred out two unique renditions of ‘Untilted (Lovesong)’ together.

"Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

However far away
I will always love you..."

Hayes felt very faint.

It was as if her body was packed with sand; Abby found herself completely stiff and unable to move. And yet she was as giddy as a jellyfish, a goofy, crooked smile plastered onto her face. Not in a million lightyears had she expected anything like this to occur. A bright blush was flashing across her face from pure excitement, and suddenly Abagael found herself with a severe case of flighty giggles. She clamped a hand over her mouth, quite surprised, but her shaking shoulders told on her.

It seemed to be a great source of amusement for Darkin, and he chuckled as he played. Abagael only shook her head, laughing, as her gaze remained fixated on the mass of fans. How the Lanes were able to perform without feeling like fish in an aquarium was astonishing to her. One could practically feel the frenzy in waves.

Then the song changed. Quite suddenly Abagael’s giggles were gone. She was a little taken aback as Figgs brushed up against her, and her face had gone from pink to red within a few seconds.

She looked at Hayes, completely unsure of what to do. This wasn’t a racy beat, after all.
