Southstar

Southstar had some time on his hands and decided he might spend it in the training grounds looking for a fight. No one in particular, just anyone who was around. He unclipped his lightsaber and toyed with the hilt until someone arrived.

-After spotting the wordless invitation to combat, Covenant runs over to where Southstar stands.-
"What a coincidence, I've just finishing repairing Drach'nyenn..."

-Drawing the long sword from the scabard rings on his back.-
"...She's an old order shadowbane sword....."

-Flicking a switch the weapon hums into life; A glowing red-energy flows along the entire length of the cutting edge of the long metal blade.-
".....You see the presnce of a real blade adds mommentum and the energy is more concentrated then that of a typical lightsaber. What she losses in speed, she more than makes up for in strength."

-With his force augmented, genetically enhanced speed he pracices maneouvers with elegant, long sweep styling; he throws in a few round-house kicks as he battles the air. With much practice of force speed augmentation, one day this man-sized blade could be an unstopable force.
"......care to give her a test run?"

Southstar stopped toying with the hilt of his lightsaber and ignighted the blade. He waved the navy blue lightsaber around a bit, "A lightsaber is more than just a weapon, it is an extention of the one who wields it." Southstar took to his fighting stance and prepared to fight, giving Covenant the first move.

-Covenant could clearly see from Southstars stance that he was experienced and although Covenant had served as a royal knight before he knew only to well that his arcane skills would probably be shown up when faced against more modern techniques. Deciding at least to begin playing it safe, for his sake, he lifted his blade stait out to one side and, with both hands held firmly on Drach'nyenn, he prefomed a quickly deployed round-house kick to Southstars head.
The almost over experienced apprentice had no problem dodging the blow by simply leaning back, although with Covenants inhuman speed it was quite close, but that wasn't the point of the kick; Swiftley following Southstar's lean back, while he was still off balance, Covenant took a wide and extremly fast swing, driving it as if it meant life or death.
Again Southstar leapt to action,
his simple doubled-grip-on-the-handle action swept the large blade off course, missing his head by a clear foot or so, but it was even closer then the kick that time.

Covenant settled backward a little to find firm footing and repositioned his blade to once again point out to the side; Southstar to stepped back to find a firmer footing, even though he found it easy to see the swing coming from Covenat's shoulders, even though he had been a step ahead of Covenant's movements, he hand felt the full force of a shadowbane for the first time and was at the very least intrigued enough to raise an eyebrow.-

*In a casual tone with just a flavour of jest.*
"She's got quite the mean kick on her hasn't she?"

Southstar didn't respond but leaped into the offensive. Knowing that speed was going to be his best ally he lauched a quick set of slashes and thrusts at Covenant with the intent of keeping him on his toes.

-With lightning speed, Covenant did his best to hold off the barrage of slashes, which he did but only just. Whilst still in the air, Southstar defended a return strike having to hold both hands of the hilt to take the full force of the shadowblade swing, the force sent him back up into the air before he came back down for a landing. Like a Sith should, he landed on both feet his balance regained perfectly but now his wrists were begining to ache from the insane force.-

"Wow!,.........You see, I told you she's slow........but I also told you she's strong, as I'm sure you now know."

-Covenant kept it in good humor but he knew it was hard work to compensate for the slower speed of his weapon; he knew that this was only a matter of time untill he failed, unless he switched weapons that is.-

"She is strong. I prefer the lightsaber though, it has a balance between strength and speed." Southstar did not mention the slight ache in his wrists but the Force soothed the pain and gave him strength to continue on. While the Force was active inside him he used it to amplify his muscles and give him some strength to deal with the Shadowbane. He charged in with a few quick slashes and added in a sweeping kick knocking Covenant back and a Force push to send him into the air.
