Hey, why not. You have what software to use. Contributions welcome

Windows 95 - Goes without saying

Windows ME - Even worse, somehow

Offcie XP - There is no reason to use anything beyond Office 2000. XP is clunky, bloated and a waste of time, plus the flie format XP uses is not backwards compatible

WMP 9 - DRM enables your PC. Your files are now literally not your own. Avoid at all cost.

Kazaa (Not Kazaa Lite) - Defines the term Spyware.

Trillian If you're not going to set it up right. - Do it right, and it's all good. Otherwise, NEIN!

Photoshop 6 - The reason I got onto the Photoshop bandwagon late.

Trillian If you're not going to set it up right. - Do it right, and it's all good. Otherwise, NEIN! Its easy to set up... I don't see how you could set it up wrong, but ok.

Photoshop 6: A horrid bastardization between 5.5 and 7. 5.5 or 7.

Winamp 3: weird beta thingy that was released very prematurely. Unresponsive, clunky playlist handling, odd memory usage.

Netscape: Mozzilla/Firebird is the answer.

MSN: Why? I dunno. No good reason to use it.

ICQ: NONONONONO. Bloatware supreme in fat. I hate ICQ.

Cute_FTP: bloatware FTP client with weird behavior? This one's for you!

Winzip: Does less than WinRAR. No point.

I thought I was the only one who hated ICQ supremely.

I dont like ICQ now. AIM gives the greatness of not getting 345 porn links every time you log in :)

Microsoft Frontpage, and pretty much any other WYSIWYG editors that add the excessive coding to their webpages. If you want to make a webpage do yourself a favor and learn code.

Everything else was covered above.

Internet explorer - Crash prone buggy POS. And se3cure as an open door

Outlook / Outlook Express - NO EXCUSE. You want a virus problem and a security issue? Use this. Otherwise, dont.

I'm not one to knock Microsoft normally, but I think it's safe to say they have the crappy software title hands down. For every good piece of software they put out a handful of absolute trash follows.

And so can Office 97. And I think also word 6. The point is, the XP native formats are not backward compatible.

Well, I'll admit that I love Photoshop 6.0 for the fact that it is a bastardization between 5.5 and 7. I get the text tools I need, and the brush control, too.

7's brush control is annoying, and refuces to work with my tablet, but the text control is better. I use both when I make things, usually, each does better at something than the other.

And, on the list of stuff not to use:

Bonzai Buddy. What an annoying piece of spyware trash....

Microsoft Gif Animator - It's alright if you like snow.
Quark - Get it right, Hammer is god and shall always be, especially once they release the one for the HL2 engine.

ICQ was good before AOL bought it, back in the days when I played Ultima Online.

sorry, couldn't think of anything else to add to the list
