Bit of warning before I forget: I will be very limited in my online time during the summer months because (drumroll)....

MY LICENSE WAS RENEWED!!!!!!

:crack

I'm going on a pseudo roadtrip across the US and so I don't really know when I'll have access to a comp. But I will try to check in once a week :)

Return to your business now, peons :D

Sorry Loki, but you mere mortals who cannot drive are going to be all tied to the stake and burned alive, that is unless you are a kid under the age of 13. j/k

Have fun girl, and remember, take lots of pictures so you have memories to help you remember the good old days.

Summer loving had me a blast
Summer loving happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be
Summer days drifting away to oh oh the summer nights

Tell me more, tell me more
Did you get very far
Tell me more, tell me more
Like does he have a car

She swam by me she got a cramp
He swam by me got my suit damp
I saved her life she nearly drown
He showed off splashing around
Summer sun something's begun but oh oh the summer nights

Tell me more, tell me more
Was it love at first sight?
Tell me more, tell me more
Did she put up a fight?

Took her bowling in the arcade
We went strolling drank lemonade
We made out under the dock
We stayed out till ten o'clock
Summer fling don't mean a thing but oh oh the summer nights

Tell me more, tell me more
But you don't gotta brag
Tell me more, tell me more
Cause he sounds like a drag

He got friendly holding my hand
She got friendly down in the sand
He was sweet just turned eighteen
Well she was good you know what I mean
Summer heat boy and girl meet but oh oh the summer nights

Tell me more, tell me more
How much dough did he spend?
Tell me more, tell me more
Could she get me a friend?

It turned colder that's where it ends
So I told her we'd still be friends
Then we made our true love vow
Wonder what she's doing now

Summer dreams ripped at the seams but oh those summer nights
Tell me more, tell me more

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'tis a very silly place.

We're Knights of the Round Table.
We dance whene'er we're able.
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable.
We dine well here in Camelot.
We eat ham and jam and spam a lot.

We're Knights of the Round Table.
Our shows are formidable,
But many times we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable.
We're opera mad in Camelot.
We sing from the diaphragm a lot.

In war we're tough and able,
Quite indefatigable.
Between our quests we sequin vests and impersonate Clark Gable.
It's a busy life in Camelot.

I have to push the pram a lot.

Because unlike the rest of my peers I have no desire to rush to the nearest car in sight, hijack it and learn to drive. I have no desire to drive yet and find it unappealing. The thought of me behind a wheel scares me a little to be perfectly honest but it's costly and I honestly don't need a car at the moment. When the time comes, say in three years after University, then I'll learn to drive but until then public transport suits me fine.

It really is a craze with people my age, over here at least, hit seventeen and GET IN THE DAMN CAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Blah I say.

Dru is anti establishment, and very go-against-the-flow. :) I applaud you, sir!

In the US, kids chomp at the bit to get their temps when they hit 15 1/2, so they can get their first license right away when they turn 16. It's very much a status thing... having your license and potentially your own car means another degree of freedom from parents. There are plenty of parents that are glad to see their children get their licenses at 16, simple because it means less chauffeuring duties, taking kids back and forth to school, to after-school activities, to friends houses, etc. I'm guessing that a similar mentality exists in the UK, although perhaps not on quite as large a scale.

I got my license when I was close to 17, near the end of my junior year of high school. It was more of a novetly than anything at the time. Once I went of to college, though, the need for a car became clearly apparent, especially going to school out-of-state.

Honestly, I didn't want to drive at all. My mom made me do it. I've always loved cars. Car was one of my first words. I love to drive but I hate driving here.

Its not like I had a lot of choice in the matter. There is no serviceable public transportation here.
