Frame 23 of 300 in my 3D animation project. I'd do other homework, but I lack the means, and I'm stuck in the Computer Arts building until this thing finishes. In the meantime, I've got nothing to do other than just draw at random and post. I'd use the faster computers, but they're all in classrooms, where people are working. >_<

I feel your pain dude!

Video takes long to render in Ultimate Cool vision mode.
And I stuck in college waiting for a 12:30 appointment.

BE strong Brother! BE STRONG!

::stands strong, with a fist raised in determination!::

I CAN MAKE IT THROUGH THIS! I CAN!

::wishes there was a smiley of determination::

Hang in there man, and be patient! 12:30's only half an hour away!

i remember rendering. it took a long time, but when it was finished, and you got to see the result of your hard work, it was very much worth it. at the labs at school, sometimes i'd have two or three comps rendering different scenes for me ^_^

There's classes going on and others working, so I'm limited to this one computer. Otherwise I'd raid a classroom and set all 30 computers to work for ME! >D But 'tis not to be.

::watches his one computer render alone::

Fight nobly, little computer! You can do this, you have the PROCESSING POWER!!!...who can tell that I'm bored? ^_^;

Hrmm. I could make quite a renderfarm just out of the machines in my house.

Athlon XP 2000, XP 1700, Duron 1000, Duron 800, Celeron 850, Celeron 800Mobile, Celeron 700Mobile.

I tried a few times to learn how to use 3ds max 3/4/5, but I've never really gotten the hang of it. It's not really user friendly. I was trying to make some basic spaceship flight scenes. All I was ever able to do was get a T-16 to fly down harrier-style and land on the Lars' homestead, and that turned good, but I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. D'oh, I accidently lost that 8-second animation when I had to reformat, too.

I'm really good at making opening crawls with 3ds max though.

Every once in a while I just get a really geeky craving to make a star destroyer or a star trek ship fly through space, escorted by smaller ships. The craving wears off when I realise again that 3dsmax is THE HARDEST THING EVER.

max isn't hard at all; go try and use softimage/xsi if you think max is hard ^_^

of course, i've used max for 2 years, so i'm a little partial to the program. character studio is awesome, and the way the animation is set up is simple. texturing models is realy easy too.

Maya's not particularly hard either, just that I'm a 3-dimensional retard. -_-; The Z dimension can go to hell. I'll work in Y and X, thank you very much!
