Well, I haven't done a finished colored piece in a while, so, here's Roderick, the cooper who became a knight. Sort of.

Tried to enlarge some areas so you could see them better. Let me know what you think, thanks.

Let's see....I'll try to post a worthy critique, but I suck at critique, so it may not be worth reading. I like the coloring job, and also the lighting. All the glares and shines are in the right places, instead of simply being arbitrarily slung about like many I've seen recently...The heavy lines behind his ears make them stand out too much, almost like they're not a part of the head. The back of his head seems like it's own thing, rather than the head. The textures on his clothing/fur are very believable. I'd say he's cuddly, but that will earn me odd stares, and besides, a girl will come along and say that later anyways, so I'll leave it to them. All in all, good work! I give it :thumbup :thumbup and an "A". :)

It's good, but like Zeke, some of the black lines are too think/too dark IMO. The coloring job is excellent as usual, and it's only a few lines that look a bit wonky to me. And his sword looks like it's from LOTR :D :lol

Dae, any generic European style sword could feasibly be from LOTR. Now stop making LOTR comparisons before you kill the coolness factor.

Stop being an <smallfont color={hovercolor}>-Censored-</smallfont> whenever someone mentions LOTR. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you get to be a bitch everytime someone mentions one little thing :mneh

There's a little too much black in the shading. That makes parts of the picture hard to distinguish.

Other than that, it is good.

Good work, Sejah. :)

I'd have to agree with the thick/dark lines comments made above, but other than that, it kicks butt! :D

Actually, the problem isnt the character is too dark - it's the background of whie. Something to soften that and I think you'll find it's much better on the eye

Damn, wish I could draw. Then again, used to say I wished I could do photoshop.......

Hmmm......

The thick black contours seem consistent with animation-grade art. No worries about that.

Looks bloody fantastic to me

Actually looking back at the ears, there's only one line there that bugs me, and that's the line at the bottom of the ear that's ungodly thick compared to the others.

::shrugs:: I'm forcing myself actually. Practicing for a double critique coming up Thursday. I hafta at least PRETEND to come up with improvements. That being said, Sejah may now dismiss all my critiquing of his work, and file my opinion under the general heading of "I think it rocks". ^_^;

Well, that line is so thick because it is shaping the contour of his ear toward the base. It is fully natural, I assure you.

And, thanks everybody!

The thick line on the ear is good. It acts as a shadow, as I'm assuming it was probably meant to be. Makes the ear pop out more and tell you it comes out from the head instead of being plastered next to it. Adds a 3-D element to the head. :)

Lovely job, as I've already told you. :) Especially that fur man. Freaky realistic.
