This may be a tough order to fill but would enjoy hearing your choices and possibly discussing why. Here are my choices but they may be subject to change:

Unforgiven
Pulp Fiction
Tombstone
Schindler's List
The Shawshank Redemption
Geronimo
The Greenmile
Miller's Crossing
The Usual Suspects
The Sixth Sense
Fargo
Last of the Mohicans
Forrest Gump
Goodfellas
Silence of the Lambs
Apollo 13
Hook
A Simple Plan
Sling Blade
The Matrix

The nineties did bring in many great films.

No Saving Private Ryan?
No 5th Element?
No Braveheart?

and why Last of the Mohicans?

Watch closely during the Indian attack on the marching away british, and you will see half of everyone standing around in confusion. Its all I remember from that movie.

The Fifth Element would be a great choice. I loved Millo, Chris, and Bruce's performances in this movie. Hilarity. But did not stand-out amongst my other choices. Great movie though.

Braveheart is alright save Mel Gibson's overly-acting performance. This movie never stuck with me mainly because the Gibson's dramatics through the flick. He ruined it for me.

But you reminded me of another Gibson movie that could have made the list and that is Hamlet. Much better performance by him IMHO.

Last of the Mohicans I put it there because I felt it was a solid enough film. Daniel Day-Lewis does display a small amount of that Gibsonitis in this movie. But I forgive him and the movie. (BTW, the arena battle of AOTC, there are jedi including Samuel L Jackson that appear very lackluster in their actions too.)

Now others will likely compile their lists and remind me of a few more great flix from the nineties for sure.

hmm... keep in mind, "memorable" for the purposes of my list does not necessarily mean "favorite." I'm going for cultural significance or movies that just made a stir in terms of public interest. In no particular order...

Schindler's List
Pulp Fiction
The Silence of the Lambs
The Phantom Menace
American Beauty
Goodfellas
The Matrix
LA Confidential
American History X
Toy Story
Forrest Gump
Being John Malkovich
Trainspotting
Good Will Hunting
Clerks
The Shawshank Redemption
Life is Beautiful
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Titanic (it pains me to put that on the list, but it's hard to ignore the highest grossing film of all time when talking about cultural significance)
Mononoke-hime (aka Princess Mononoke)

Of course, there are many that got left off...
