OOC* As with all my training threads this will be somewhat of a flashback thread, if you have been a member of the GJO for a while or if you are interested in practicing sabers with my character feel free to join in, but just don't mess with the flashback stuff :D

"Alright class ignite your saber and take up defensive posture 1," The woman at the front of class instructed. There were many Padawan learners in the room getting their first tastes of how to use the weapon of the Jedi, a Light Saber.
"Now raise your saber up and tilt it to your left, good. Return your saber to defensive posture 1. Now point the saber down towards the ground and to your right, now bring it back to the starting position. Now up and to the left, now horizontally to the right, bring it down to the left, and back to the start. Very good class," The Knight teaching the course of young padawan's smiled brightly at the progress of her beginner's saberist course. She moved fluidly through the group of amateur saber wielder's watching as they went through the blocking routine that all beginner's learn. Next they would learn the basic attacks, and then spar. She examined the room trying to determine which Padawan's would be good matches with the others. It was a fairly easy task, some of the Padawan's were much more advanced, others a bit remedial in their skills, however there was one who stood out. A little boy among the group of older padawans, he maneuvered his saber like he was born with it in his hand, but he was so small, she was afraid to match him with an inexperienced padawan who might hurt him, even though the blades were only trainers.
"Are you enjoying yourself Ka' el?"
************************************************** **
The young man smiled as he opened his eyes. He had recently finished his centering exercise that he always went through before he began any training. In his right hand was the worn hilt of a practice saber. A live light saber that is given to Padawans to practice there skills and defend themselves before they make their own blade.
Walking towards the wall, he pressed a button on a control panel. A small door opened and a practice orb floated out. It hovered a few feet off the ground, the ever familiar hum seeped into the Padawan's ear. Slowly the metallic ball elevated to eye-level with the dirty blonde haired boy. Ka' el snapped his Light Saber to life, the blue blade snapping out to it's full length and the pitch of it's hum, harmonizing with the sound of the repulsor lifts in the practice orb.
Ka' el took up a defensive posture and waited, closing his eyes to feel out his surroundings with the Force. Suddenly he snapped his saber up and horizontally to the left, a bolt was fired a split second later from the practice orbe, deflecting easily off his saber's blade. Ka' el quickly brought the saber back into a defensive position as he did he tilted it slightly to the right, another bolt fired from the practice orb again being deflected by the deft skills of the young Padawan.
Soon the orb began firing in a more rapid succession, each bolt was successfully defended against and reflected back at the orb, which in turn was maneuvering to avoid it's own prodigal attacks. A haze of blue began emitting from before the learner, his saber moved so rapidly the light left after images.
Up to the right, down left, up, horizontal...
Ka' el's movements looked fluid and rehearse though the attack from the orb was entirely random. He hadn't even broken a sweat nor had his breathing lost it's meditative rhythm. He was in a sort of Jedi battle trance that allowed him to block out all distractions other than the danger at hand.
