Shrin is sitting at the bar at 8 AM, the minute the Bar and Grill opens for business. He's hungry and in need of a quality breakfast, so where else would he go? He's got a plate of eggs, pancakes, and sausage, with a glass of milk sitting to the side. He douses the eggs with ketchup and rinses his pancakes with syrup, eating slowly as he tries to wake up. The B&G is uncommonly quiet, and the scooting of chairs makes him look up.

"Good mornin'..." he says quietly to the woman seating herself down the row.

:: Soolin turns to look at the young man. Grimya as always was by her side, and the she-wolf waited eagerly for her morning meal as Soolin ordered ::

"Good morning."

Shrin swallows before yawning mightily. He's out of stuff to say already. To cover his discomfort he spears a sausage and chews it slowly, rubbing his eyes as if he were more asleep than he really is.

"I never get up this early," he says finally. "It's an odd feeling."

"We come here after morning exercise."

:: Soolin takes the first plate and sets it down for Grimya, then begins eating from her own ::

"Muh-morning esercise?" he yawns. "I do all o' my routines in the afternoon. I guess I'm just lazy like that. I never wake up before ten, but today seems to be an exception. I wonder what got me up so early?"

:: Soolin studied the young man as she ate. She didn't recall seeing him before, but there were very few jedi that she knew beyond those who held Council seats ::

"Y'know..." he says idly, stirring the food on his plate about, "I'll bet someone would tell me it's because of the Force. That it 'works in strange and mysterious ways' and that nothing happens by accident. If that's true, I wonder what purpose being up early could serve? It seems like a minor way to make something important happen."

"What makes you think that?"

"Huh? Think what?"

Shrin blinks and looks to Soolin again, having completely lost his train of thought.

"Think its the Force? I dunno...I don't think I do."

He stares blankly at the plate before him, feeling very much like a fool.

"What does being a Jedi mean to you? What brought you here?"

"Um...I came to the Bar and Grill for breakfast...I...I haven't approached the Jedi Order yet. I'm not sure if I've got the right idea about being a Jedi or not."

He grins sheepishly, embarrassed, then tells her what he thinks.

"Jedi maintain order. It's my job to prevent murders, robberies, and keep peace between planets...to prevent war and chaos."

:: Soolin nods in agreement ::

"Do those words ring true for you in your heart? Or are they poetry? This is something you must search your soul for. Only then can you be sure this path is the right one."

Do they?

"Certainly they do! Nothing is more precious than the peace and safety of the people."

He sighs.

"It's more important than anything to maintain order. Peace is essential to the happy lives of the citizens."

He rubs his eyes with the palms of his hands.

"I probably sound melodramatic. But it's how I feel."
