But I'm not sure...

Is there any kind of programs or something that can turn a CD-RW into a DVD-ROM? A friend of mine told me there was but I wanted to ask the general public (and those who tended to know more about stuff than I) about it.

I'm in a desperate bind for screencaps of something and all I got is a CD-RW.

No. Never heard of it. and I very much doubt it can happen.

Wouldn't something like that be illegal?

What movies? I got some impressive digital capture units I can work with at the College, capture anything you want, high quality.(If I can get the DVD/Movie)

You said you're in need of screencaps from a movie... what format is the movie in? I don't see any reason why you'd need to put it on either a CD-R or a DVD-R to take a screencap.

Oh, ok. I got you now. I wasn't understanding what you were saying.

Mm... no, there's no real way to play a DVD on a CD-ROM.

yeah, you can compress the DVD into MPEG-4. Might try Robot4rip, or EasyDivX. Check doom9.net. After a few months of reading the guides and trial and error, you should become slightly proficient at it.
