Some notes:

Latin translates to: Our blood purchases freedom

Symbol is the Rebellion insignia, transformed into the visage of a Phoenix. The symbolism involved is that it represents a Republic, rising again from the ashes of Imperial tyranny.

The Phoenix clutches a rifle in its talons, which is symbolic that every member of the NRSF is a rifleman first, above all else.

The double chevrons represent the Second Galactic Republic (NR).
