Oddness with my computer

For some reason, about every few minutes or so command prompt opens...runs some sort of command...then closes.

Also my shortcuts on my desktop have been goofing up recently too.

Did I infect my computer or what?

and for the record, when the command prompt pops up it says something like

Lumcomp.exe or something...I'll get the full name at some point.

Download and run Spybot, and run an a trojan killer, like The Cleaner. See if either of those find something.

(oh, and after your done cleaning it off your system reconfigure the safety settings on you browser so that it can't download and install scripts without your permission... )

Me being Mister 'I know nothing about my computer' (I found out it was Norton's which had screwed up btw) how do I do that?
