I absolutely can't wait to see the Two Towers Extended Edition preview. The thought of watching the Two Towers EE in DTS audio!

And there'll be a 10 minute preview of ROTK on this DVD. If only it weren't 4 months away.

Can't wait!

Viscera, do you find the low-freq channel on DTS weaker than on DD5.1?

low frequency? I'm not up on my equalizer techno talk. ??

I find that DTS gives more of a strong bass effect, I think. It's really pleasing to the ears, except when you can't hear the dialogue over the bass. This happened 2 times in LOTR.

I find that DTS gives more of a strong bass effect, I think. That's what I meant. I actually find the dolby mix far heavier on the bass end (low frequency) than DTS, even though the rest of the sound field in DTS is clearly better.

To me that is stupid the thing is already on the net now, why not release it early like COS and AOTC did they will lose some money, IMO.

The pirated DVD Screener has been on the net since January 8th 2003, not the retail theatrical edition with high-definition video mastering, a cool menu, a high bitrate and special features. Likewise, FOTR came out on the net and in Malaysian bootleg DVD shops January 21, 2002, and it didn't hinder the sales of FOTR theatrical 7 months later.

Trust me, the pirated screener DVD pales in quality comparison to the theatrical retail. No one who would consider buying the TTT DVD would think of the crappy quality Malaysian disc as a suitable replacement.

Let them release TTT theatrical early for a bunch of other reasons (namely we all want our HQ TTT now), but don't say that they should release the disc in order to defeat comparitively negligable bootleg sales. That argument is about as foolproof as using a whifflebat as an umbrella.

Well I still think they should release it early, it silly to make us wait that long.

Thanks for the date, Fig! :D

YAY! It comes out three days before my birthday! :) Guess that'll be a great present! ;) :crack

EE comes out on my birthday, but I won't be buying it.

I'm tired of this cash milking scheme that DVDs are all about. I'll continue to get the free screeners, and wait till they bundle the whole trilogy, EE style. Only then will I give my money for this.

They're not free. They come from Malaysia, and the Malaysians are money-grubbing greed monkeys, which is odd because that definitely doesn't spoon with the moslim culture, which is pretty socialist. Banks are forbidden from charging interest in a muslim country because Mohammad didn't like interest and thought loans should be free.

Every person I know who got screeners or rips bought the DVD of FOTR. LOTR is known to be heavily pirated, yet DVD sales and movie ticket sales are huge.

What Hollywood has to realise is that people will pay for DVD (and I think they have clued on), if the value is there. Without question, the DVD's of FOTR were extremely high quality feature filled packages that no rip could get close to. Who wants a poor pirate copy when the real thing is so superb? Hell, can you name a DVD set that is of higher quality and more feature rich than FOTR:EE?

I actually liked Back to the Future more but hey that is my opinion, I think it was because I grew up on the movies.

Yeah, but I'll wait for them to package the set and not get overcharged for it.

I will go ahead and buy it now, I don't see me buying a package set, it be stupid for me to, IMO.
