I want to buy the Early Bird package Kubrick set... anyplace you can think of to get em at less than $100? I saw one on e-bay for $95, but I hate the thought of ever using them.

It's funny you mention that piece, I saw some Kubrick stuff the other day somewhere. The Death Star Escape set I think. It looked pretty cool, but I don't have any Kubrick stuff. You may want to try some online retailers like www.newforcecomics.com The trading boards at Rebelscum might give you a lead or two. Have you bought any other Kubrick stuff? What do you think of them?

Can't say I have previously, but the thought of an early bird set... mmmmmmmmmmmm

Sides, the Artoo looks cool. :)

If you get it you've got to get some pics up! I think I read somewhere that they ship it in a similiar box to the original early bird set. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet..

Try this one... it shows the full packaging, which is a replica of the Kenner early bird package.

That packaging is just awesome. At the original price of $32 it was a great set. I just don't know if I'd be willing to pay 3 times that on ebay. Hell, in a couple of months the price is likely to go down by 1/3. In a couple of years it will probably be down to $30-$50. But who can wait that long? ;)

I had suggested it as a B'day present for the end of May to Jinn, but we're thinking of waiting to see it at the San Diego Comic-Con. If you think it'll go down by then, then it really sounds like a good idea. :)

Kubricks are small Lego type toys. If I remember right, they show up in the states as foreign imports. They've made Trek figures and a few other lines as well. I've seen a Luke/Han Stormtrooper disguise that comes with a Chewie and not there's this Early Bird set. You can find pics and more info on them at the big collecting sites.
