Question on how Char death works

This may be a dumb question, please bear with me.

Still getting use to this board posting, I was wondering how a character's death works on the forums.

I noticed that y'all post in many threads at the same time so you're involved in many different storylines.

If your character dies in one storyline, does that mean its dead in every story? Do you have to stop using that character and create a new one and begin again?

Thanks in advance to those who help me to understand how this works. :)

For a character to die, the person who plays them has to give consent - so usually you will have tied it into some storyline/timeline.

What I do is think "is this thread happening before that one (in my timeline/storyline)", if yes then you wouldn't have to take into account wounds or battles that you're also RPing in. If the answer is no, then the character would have to be different according to what had happened to them - say if they had broken their arm in a fight.

An example with your Sable character: You have 2 threads with Sable: one with me, and one with Yuu-huu. If I were to kill you in our thread, you would still be alive for Yuu-huu's. But once all your threads with Sable are done, that character is considered dead and wouldn't be used in more RPs, unless you were a zombie or something.
