You'll need at least a 1ghz processor to play it smoothly.

I wasn't terribly excited about this before but some of the stuff I've been seeing lately seems pretty interesting.

Spoiler in the trailer: Anyone else see the Last Flight of Osiris? Well, it seems that bit about all the machines drilling to get to Xion is actually in the movie.

All Matrix Fans:

Get the new Premiere magazine, they have a huge article full of GOOD STUFF in it. And yeah, your spoiler Shawn, is true. In the article it says that the movie opens with Zion being under attack by the machines trying to drill into it.

I can't wait. Plus, Agent Smith is going to start replicating himself like a virus inside the matrix. There was mentioned a fight scene with Neo fighting 100 Agent Smiths. Sounds a bit corny and hard to pull off but I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Re: your second spoiler - That's in this trailer. The entire scene is CG.

FFS, that sounds so lame! The idea of 100 Agent Smiths is such a crappy gimmick. I guess I'm glad its not "Agent Smith 2.0" with breasts, liquid metal, and power armor, or some crap. I just can't get my hopes up for this :\

Shawn

From my undestanding, he's become a virus. And that's what a virus does - replicate itself.

While there are definitely some critics of the Matrix sequels, I don't think they're going to be bad films. At the very least, they should be good sequels. And really, how many film franchises have decent sequels?

Sure, it's basically milking the cashcow but it could be a lot worse.

I'm not all that excited, either. Some of the things I've been reading about the plot, and certain scenes, sound really stupid. I'll see both of the new films, but I'm not expecting either to be that great.

But...what...does...that...differ...from...the...f irst...matrix? Arg, you have a bunch of suits with glasses, that bust up out of nowhere and infest people. It was done before! Now, they're like "Crap, no fresh ideas...SMITH++!" I don't think it will be crap on the level of "2 Fast 2 Furious", but its a fair bet that with such canned ideas, its going to be bereft of the magic and stimulation that the first one had.

That trailer is what I call hi-definition. I've already transcoded my copy to 16:9 anamorphic DVD :D

Well as cynical as I have been about these sequels, I just watched that trailer and have to admit that it looks amazing. Absolutely spectacular and the "Agent Smith ++" scene looks just wow! Worried about the plot but aside from that I have no doubt whatsoever that Reloaded will be one hell of a ride. :D

It's not often I say something's a bitta nosh.

This trailer was very very very very very good indeed. Thumbs up to the Wachowski brothers! I'm curious to see Neo and Trinity onscreen together both in and out of the Matrix.

I wish I could see the trailer! I'll have to let it load up tonight at home.

ALSO: apparently Trinity and Neo get it on finally. Also, there is a new character put into the Matrix specifically to tempt Neo from saving the planet. She looks like a bombshell. Not blonde though, which is good. :)

I'm curious as to what the role of the Twins is going to be, but they look awesome as well. Jada Pinkett Smith is starring as Morpheus' old flame and Morpheus looks aweeeesome in Premiere there is a shot of him standing in a freeway as an Agent is coming towards him bashing cars to bits. Gun in one hand, sword in the other.

i'm waaay hyped for the movie now. :)

Are they those things that look like a mix of the Gimp in Pulp Fiction and a Jellyfish?

Hi Mr. Not-using-spoiler-tags!

Shawn

Rumor is: the scene with all those Agent Smith duplicates actually crashes the Matrix.

They still use Windows? ;)

Lilaena De'Ville

It isn't really a spoiler as to what the Twins look like. Have you seen the posters for the Matrix Reloaded? They're the pale dreadlocked ones.

Mark if/when you get it loaded up, tell me how long it took you, so I can budget enough time to it tonight. ;) Maybe I'll just leave it going all night and get to it in the morning. What speed are you connected at? I usually get about 49.2K out of my 56K modem.

It's doesnt matter how fast their server is - we're on dialup and that means 4K/ps max.

LD, I'm looking over the small size one, it's going to take about 90 minutes to fully fetch. I'm not even goign to try for the largest versin, that'll take about 7 hours.

I'm on dial-up, and it took me about 4 hours to get each of the medium-sized Animatrix featurettes. I just let them download overnight.

I heard an interesting rumor: Supposedly, the movies were in danger of running over budget, so Keanu Reeves actually gave back some of the money they were paying him to prevent this from happening.

If this is true, I'd have to say, that's pretty cool of him.

Lilaena De'Ville
Apr 10th, 2003, 10:12:36 PM
That IS cool. *runs off to dl the trailer now*

DLed it. Watched it. Was pretty. That's about it.

Sorry guys (and gals), I just can't get hyped about this. I'm sure it'll be a fun ride action-wise, and I'll see it in the theatre... but it has to do more that look pretty to stand up to the first film. I'm giving it a chance because the first one was good.

So far... I've enjoyed the Animatix shorts more than the actual movie footage.

ReaperFett
Apr 11th, 2003, 03:15:19 PM
Even I enjoyed the Animatrix :)

Could it be that the pretense behind the movie is far more interesting than the movie itself?

Sanis Prent
Apr 11th, 2003, 10:32:06 PM
You imply the movie has pretense, which is also in question. The only thing we're guaranteed is eye candy.

James Prent

I've read about the plot, and I think its going to be good. :mneh

I mean the story behind it. Machines that decide that they should go and take over the earth.

Sanis Prent
Apr 12th, 2003, 12:05:12 AM
Yeah...that's deep man.

Whoa

:rolleyes

Forgive me for not gushing, but the first Matrix had much more going for it than that.

Figrin D'an
Apr 12th, 2003, 12:27:36 AM
Part of what made the first Matrix film so compelling was the mystery/mystic aspect of it. Much of the story was masked, and it would give you tidbits here and there as it progressed, until it became clear that Neo was indeed "The One." Then, it shifted to "Will Neo believe in himself enough to make the prophecy come true?" Combine that with the action sequences, and you have a pretty good film.

Maybe the second film will have that, too. Maybe not. We'll just have to see. I'm just not going to hold my breath in hopes that it will.

Marcus Telcontar
Apr 12th, 2003, 12:51:01 AM
Ah, the eye candy would be worth the admission price alone. If you want plot in your CG epics, you go see LOTR anyway. I was pretty cold to the other trailers, but this last one was great. Less than a month and australia scores it first!
