We can wait still. Him not posting helps you notice too ;)
So, are we doing anything over Lebron?
JMK
Mar 26th, 2003, 07:08:11 AM
I think he's been informed that his post was unappreciated.

Okay then
Jedi Master Carr
Mar 26th, 2003, 12:26:18 PM
I think that works for now.
JMK
Mar 26th, 2003, 02:25:05 PM
Do we need to start an Admiral Lebron thread? :lol
Taylor Millard
Mar 26th, 2003, 02:38:16 PM
:lol He's another one who needs to be reminded to 'grow up'.
JMK
Mar 26th, 2003, 03:05:37 PM
At least he can still claim to be in his mid-teens and not into the 20's. He's expected to be immature, it's not an excuse, but it has to be expected.
Jedi Master Carr
Mar 26th, 2003, 05:57:40 PM
Is Lebron the new Jon :lol I hope it is just his immaturaty and he does grow out of it.
Shawn
Mar 26th, 2003, 06:03:27 PM
Yeah, I'll cut Lebron a little bit of slack because he's on the young side and trying to fit in. He's not full of himself like Jon was.

Mar 26th, 2003, 06:40:03 PM
Lebron gets onto AIM just to insult me. :\ I had him blocked for a few months and then he got a new name and found me again. But that's neither here nor there, as its not on the boards.
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 06:53:31 PM
Ive got him blocked too. I got bored of his insults when you didnt say what he wanted to hear (Im a dumb Brit because I dont know who Mr Rogers is? That just finished it)
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 07:52:56 PM
:lol he just reported a post of mine to the mods, requesting that it be deleted or censored.
I don't think that'll be happening :mneh

Mar 26th, 2003, 07:58:11 PM
Wanna bet?

Mar 26th, 2003, 08:03:33 PM
What the work on your English post?
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:04:54 PM
Pfft, Vis says things like that to me, and everyone makes me out to be bad when I retort! Jeez, baby :)
imported_Eve
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:06:45 PM
What post?
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:08:07 PM
He's mad because his english sucks balls and he's wanting help with his spanish. Nothing in the FAQ against being frank :)
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:10:58 PM
But thats basically what Vis said to me. And that was just pure fucking insulting.
imported_Eve
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:11:00 PM
What did you expect to come from your comment?
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:14:12 PM
Unfounded whining. Just amused at its extent :)
imported_Eve
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:18:55 PM
Listen Charley, you know I love ya, but alot of times you do the exact thing you're supposed to be on this staff to stop. That remark was plain insulting. The ONE thing you have going for it, is you posted as someone who people aren't familiar with enough to know is you. It's uncalled for. You don't like the kid, tell him on AIM. He posted a thread for help and you shit on it. Did he deserve that?
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:20:18 PM
I suggested he work on his bad grammar first. This is a bad thing?
imported_Eve
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:21:45 PM
Had you said that to me, I'd be insulted. Had he said that you, you'd be insulted.
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:22:05 PM
Yeah. Because Vis did that to me, and it pissed me off enough.
Shawn
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:23:26 PM
She's not saying that the comment was completely unfounded, just that we kind of need to excercise a little more tact sometimes. If you'd tossed the comment at me, I'd probably just make a retort and we'd be on our ways. But we do have to try and avoid situations that will make the staff look bad.
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:23:33 PM
But you'd work on your horrid grammar, and next time, I'd address another issue. Its not a flame, its frank criticism. There's a distinction.
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:26:08 PM
:huh :huh :huh :huh :huh
What are you talking about? I know that you're speaking english, but your response has little to do with the statement that you're responding to.
To me, your reply was basically a lighter form of that, with a few less undertones I suppose.
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:27:47 PM
(shrug) I saw no problem with that either. :\
If you guys wanna do something about it, that's fine by me. I've been the odd man out on things like this before.
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:31:22 PM
Hes belittling my post? He doesnt bother with the NORMAL persons "How do you mean?" or "So what you mean is...?"? He just insults, and you find that fine?
Lilaena De'Ville
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:33:11 PM
Charley just because its YOU doesn't mean you can be rude. And if a mod steps out of line then yeah, things are going to be done. I have no opinion on this matter at the moment, however, other than yes we need to excercise tact.
Otherwise we're just 'covering' for you, Charley. I'd like to hear what TSE would say about that. :x
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:34:43 PM
Frankly, if somebody isn't directly flaming, or busting the censor filter, I don't think its much of a big deal at all, and I think its a bit extreme to intervene in such cases.
Shawn
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:35:11 PM
I'm split on this issue. I, personally, don't find Viscera's post insulting or belittling. Charley's, only slightly. But I do know that other people might so, ultimately, they are. Thus, we kind of do need to watch what we say.
Don't think we're singling you out here, Chuck. I'm sure I've made posts like that in the past. I tend to simply say what's on my mind. The problem is, what we say often isn't as important as how we say it, sometimes.
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:37:21 PM
...forget it
Sanis Prent
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:37:46 PM
considering LD's comment, I'm not so sure about that one.
Fett, don't "forget it". if thats what you believe, stick with it. If the consensus is to kill that, that's fine.
imported_Eve
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:40:54 PM
You don't seem to think you did anything wrong though.
ReaperFett
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:43:02 PM
Charley, Im forgetting it because if I dont, Im just going to get more pissed off about it than I am. I mean, at least your comment was only one small sentence.
Shawn
Mar 26th, 2003, 08:45:00 PM
It's a matter of who you're around, really. In different company, this would hardly be worth mentioning. Here, however, there's a greater need for tact. There's nothing that can be done about it now, and I don't think any kind of punishment is in order, but it's just something I'd like you to keep in mind. :)

Of course I don't. In my interpretation of the rules, I haven't. In others, perhaps I have. Why is it a bad thing to assert that I was in the right?

Mar 27th, 2003, 01:25:45 AM
I suggest a split topic, as this doesn't really have anything to do with Jonathan anymore.
Jedi Master Carr
Mar 27th, 2003, 01:35:14 AM
I went ahead and split and since most of the discussion is about Lebron I went ahead and named that the thread.
JMK
Mar 27th, 2003, 07:08:15 AM
And the cycle begins again....:lol
The score:
Jonathan 637
Admiral Lebron 40
Taylor Millard
Mar 27th, 2003, 07:29:40 AM
Well the thing Lebron's gotta realize is he's just a kid. And being jackanapes to people isn't good. I've heard a few complaints.
Lebron just needs maturity I think.
JMK
Mar 27th, 2003, 08:19:53 AM
Agreed. He is just a kid, but how long is that reason going to be valid around here should he continue to draw complaints from others?
Taylor Millard
Mar 27th, 2003, 09:47:28 AM
By 16 I think he should be smart enough to figure it out.
Navaria Tarkin
Mar 27th, 2003, 02:11:28 PM
so ... he gets leway till he's sixteen?
that makes no sense.... if the complaints keep coming about him then he needs a talking and if that don't work then ... well, we know what the next step is.
Shawn
Mar 27th, 2003, 03:06:12 PM
I think we should just talk to him. I bet if we said "Hey, look, don't be an ass" (in a more eloquent way, of course), he'd calm down.
JMK
Mar 27th, 2003, 03:14:16 PM
Ok, step 1: talk. Step 2: warn. Step 3: REALLY warn via PM. Step 4: Ban
Is that somewhat close to what the order should (or is) be?
Shawn
Mar 27th, 2003, 03:17:27 PM
Hmm... I don't know about banning. I hope it doesn't come to that. But if I don't think it will, since there will be several warnings beforehand.
Taylor Millard
Mar 27th, 2003, 03:37:25 PM
I said 16 'cause I thought he turned 16 in like 2 weeks. n/m
JMK
Mar 27th, 2003, 03:54:32 PM
Oops, I should have specified, I wasn't just referring to Lebron. It was more of a general protocol type thing. Like how we would deal with anyone if they were popping off at the mouth all the time.
Shawn
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:05:51 PM
Yeah, that's the basic procedure. I don't feel Lebron is intentionally being an ass, per se... just shooting off his mouth and trying to fit in, so to speak. Unless anyone else wants to, I can talk to him about it.
JMK
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:21:56 PM
I think he's heard it enough for this time around. Of course there's no problem with being thorough.
ReaperFett
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:29:59 PM
I dont see how he cans ee insulting people over AIM as "fitting in"
Shawn
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:35:17 PM
Fett, how often do we argue? Or better yet, how often did Jon incite arguments? He probably feels that he needs to be vocal and aggressive to make people notice him.
ReaperFett
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:38:23 PM
But he doesnt argue. Take the last time we spoke. He said Mr Rogers (That it? TV guy) died. I asked who that was, and he replies with "British idiot" or similar. And that is how he is EVERY time we spoke. Unless you said what he wants to hear, he throws insults in.
Shawn
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:43:09 PM
Yeah, I'm not saying that's something he should be doing. All I was trying to say was that I get the feeling he does it because he thinks it's "cool" or whatever to bash other countries (eg, "French suck!").
I think he's heard it enough for this time around.Except that we didn't really seem to get the point across. His response was something like "All I said was French = ewww, but ok". Which is more like "I don't see a problem with bashing the French, but I'll shut my mouth because you told me to".
Maybe I'm cutting him a bit too much slack. 15 means he's - what? Freshman/Sophmore in High School? He really should know better by now.
Jedi Master Carr
Mar 27th, 2003, 04:44:20 PM
Well I hope this thread doesn't get as long as Jons. Since he is 16 I think you are right Shawn, talking to him probably would help.
Taylor Millard
Mar 27th, 2003, 05:00:56 PM
I knew better than him at my age.
The guy frecking thinks he can do 21 hours of school and work full time. In college.
Okay maybe you can dot hat...but I couldn't :lol
Navaria Tarkin
Mar 27th, 2003, 11:16:13 PM
I didn't know that he was turning 16 in two weeks :p
