That's a pretty silly explanation. The "thrill" of seeing ANH's hyperspace effect? Granted it's a great shot, but c'mon, how would using it in EP1-EP3 ruin it? Gee, I wonder how he'll preserve the "thrill" of Vader's revelation or Leia's family tree? Are we never going to learn either of those tidbits in EP3? Oh, the horror....

Seriously, good point =)

That is so lame. But then again, maybe that shot has a personal importance to him and he wants it to be the first and foremost in people's minds.

Its not a real big deal to me see hyperspace isn't that big of deal in a Star Wars movie.

It is to me cause it's just so damn cool!

I was pretty surprised when TPM came out that we didn't see it, so I figured maybe in Ep. II. Of course, none there, and now this. Not that I'm crushed about it - it's not THAT big of a deal, but I was kinda disappointed - the hyperspace lines were so cool and they are one of the "icons" that SW is known by - to not use them in the prequels is wrong, IMHO.

Yeah, I mean its not that big a deal. But I think its another indicator of where Lucas' priorities lie. The hyperspace lines have been done - its time for some other new cg effect.

I don't know if that is the reason or not it could be that he doesn't want to do it anymore it was really only showed with the Falcon right? Maybe he wants to keep it that way.

wow i had never even thought about it

but what he says makes sense because he realizes he has already screwed up to movies a little bit why ruin the original trilogy leave the great things there alone

Or maybe the Falcon is so damn fast... IT can only make the hyperspace lines! ;)

Yeah, maybe... after all, it's the ship the made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs... ;)

Did any other ship show those lines? I can't remember if you saw them when the ships jumped before the Battle of Endor, I know you saw the Falcon can't remember with the rest.

I agree with Jedi Master Carr. It's not a big issue with me to see ships go into hyperspace. We know they do, so why do we need to see it happen??

Or maybe if he did it now it would some how look different. Do you remember the StarTrek movies, every movie "Warp" looked different went from really fast to a blue con trail to the Rainbow to streaching the ship. Just a thought.

Well the differences in the way warp speed looks in the films can be sort of explained that warp speed was getting faster... sorta. ;)

I'm sure you saw the hyperspace lines from within Ackbars ship.

I'm pretty sure hyperspace lines were seen at the Battle of Endor...although they show the fleet coming OUT of hyperspace as well.

I love the hyperspace starlines....I use them as often as possible in my RPs. ;)

I understand what Lucas says, and agree.

I suppose he's gotta leave some things to the change in technology.

It's sortof why I dont want to see the Death Star being made in EP3. Would look better chronologically if ANH is it's first sighting.
