Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall have both agreed to be in the sequel to the 80’s hit movie, 16 Candles. I wish I was kidding, but I’m not.

This is so sad. Aging washed up stars looking for 15 more minutes, and studios gobbling it up.

Let us pray.:(

Man - that was a good flick in the 80's, but why the need to do a sequel? This is just retarded.

That sad thing is that there are droves of people that will see both of those films...

Sadly, my mother will be one of them.

So you complain that they are..........making what the people want? :)

They're complaining that what is being made is unoriginal and cliche. Whether the people want it or not was not stated.

Reaper, show me ONE person who was asking for a sequel to either of those 2 movies and I'll show you a candidate for a lobotomy. Those ideas are brutal.

But people may go "Great idea! A thing I love dearly, returning!"

LOL -- this lacks any artistic value whatsoever. Directors who whore themselves like this should be ashamed of themselves.

If it's a small time director they've got to put money in the bank somehow. Not everyone's first film is a Citizen Kane.
Look at Independence Day, that movie was COMPLETELY devoid of ANY artistic merit and it did pretty well. :)

I'd go see it. Did Hughes do the first one? Maybe he's doing this one. I always love Ringwald. Can't call Hall washed up. His show Dead Zone is good.

Film hasn't been made and it's already lacking artistic value? Well, that's smart to say, isn't it?

Yeah Hall has made a come back with The Dead Zone that is a hugely successful show on USA I watch it ever week. It doesn't bother me I mean nothing is really original, not really.

32 Candles is a lame sequel. For all intents and purposes, Ringwald and Hall ARE washed up. Getting a part on an admittedly good cable TV show isn't the same as being an A-list actor. Both Ringwald and Hall had their day in the sun and were as "hot" as young actors could be. Those days are long gone. This sequel just sounds sad. And if Hughes has a limited involvement in it then it's more than likely going to be sad. It's going to take Hughes' name on the director's chair and one hell of a trailer to get me even remotely interested in seeing 32 candles. I LOVED the original. But I have little interest in seeing this sequel and when I mentioned it to my wife who liked 16C even more she just rolled her eyes.

At least they waited 19 years. Better than all those half @ssed sequels 1 year later. :)

Well Hall is making a lot of money on Dead Zone his a producer on it and I think he is making over a million a season. The show is the most popular one on cable (not counting HBO) So I would say he is making a comeback of sorts. Ringwald well she hasn't been in anything in years, I think the last big thing she did was a tv series for ABC.
