I got this in an e-mail and I thought I'd share it with all of you. :)

If you are so inclined, visit the Department of Defense web page below and sign a brief message thanking the men and women of the U.S. military services for defending our freedom. The compiled list of names will be sent out to our soldiers at the end of the month. So far, there are only about 1,400,000 names. What a shame. There should be hundreds of millions of thank you's. Pass the word that we can honor and support the defenders of freedom. National Military Appreciation Month http://www.defendamerica.mil/nmam.html

I haven't seen this sight or heard of it... and I'm sure many haven't. But that doesn't mean we don't send our thanks. We sent my uncle some ham and gatorade as well as my dad's friend some stuff too. I've sent my uncles e-mails as well... people show their thanks in different ways.

The U.S. and British losses were from a Helicopter going down (I believe an Apache). It was a transport copter that went down for no odd reason.

Probably mechanical failure. Did you know that more troops died in the Gulf War from mechanical failures than died in combat? I think the total was around 140 killed in action, and around 250 by something just simply going wrong.

I pray for their families.

All 16 of those marines in the helicopter died....they think it was because of the weather...

The first 16....

My heart goes out to those families...

:cry

It's gotta be aweful for the families of those 16 people. They are sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, cousins, husbands, wives, girlfriends, fiancees, maybe even mothers and fathers. :(

I hope that God helps their families get through this time.

:cry

I hate this stupid war so much. It is so pointless -- it could have been done so much more peacefully.

Just figures though doesn't it? They go over there with the knowledge and understanding that they could very well lose their lives fighting for the lives and freedom of others, and the first 16 to die, are due to mother nature, or some stupid technical failure within their own machinery..

May the Deities bless their souls, their families, and those of the rest of the troops over there. Hopefully they'll also be the Last lives lost to this battle.

Oh, and mine makes 7,099,628 to sign
