Send that bulldozer driver to the Hague for war crimes, HANG HIM, pour lye on his dead carcass and wrap a pigskin around his body!

How could ANYONE just smash an innocent civilian protestor to paste with a bulldozer? Are they absolutely devoid of sense or mercy?

TIANANMEN SQUARE! TIANANMEN SQUARE!

:(

I found their website, and a small list of 3 phone numbers for contact and info, and called a man named Tom in Gaza to offer my condolences over the death of Rachel Corrie. The Israeli military has killed far too many americans, and I have had enough. I'm going to write my Senators and my Congressman.

I think I actually knew her. Not well, but I believe I had met her once at some sort of function gathering thing. That name is just too familiar.

Man, what happend is just awful.

Other witnesses, however, reported that Corrie had scaled a pile of dirt but then lost her footing and fell backward behind it, out of sight of the bulldozer operator. The bulldozer continued moving forward, covering Corrie with dirt and then crushing her.

It was not clear whether the bulldozer operator could hear protesters' yells over the sound of the machine.

No offense, but Im more willing to believe others over a guy who goes for the same cause. It's a hard one to read.

Fett, you're not thinking about this clearly. Do you drive around in heavy machinery not worrying about people who are a few feet in front of you whom you've lost sight of?

They can cry "accident" all they want, but these kinds of "accidents" happen so routinely that they must be policy.

Visc, have you ever worked around a machine that big? I have. Though, only breifly.

You can't hear a blasted thing that is more than three feet from you, and those big scoops kind of impair vision, especially if they are filled with dirt.

I'm not entirely convinced it was an accident, but, I doubt he would do it on purpose. I very much doubt if this was done on purpose.

A bulldozer of that size is about enough to deafen you if you work it for a whole day. You wear earplugs and earmuffs, too. Same with most other large machinery. Diesel engines can be very noisy, and it is entirely possible he neither saw nor heard her.

Don't you see? This is exactly the point I'm trying to make. When using a machine like that, you exercise CAUTION. Clearly this murderer was not being cautious, because he didn't worry about it when he lost track of a protestor who was only seconds ago right in front of him. As soon as the protestor left his field of view, he should have shut down the darn machine to make sure he wouldn't run her over. The driver, most likely purposely, took no steps to ensure the safety of those nearby, and now a 23 year old woman is dead. Murdered.

This isn't the first time that the IDF has exercised a degree of caution that can be measured in negative numbers.

Just like when you're near a machine like that.

True, but moreso for the driver.

I have worked on heavy machines like that. All I can say is I agree with Visc. This seems more like a deliberate and callous act.

A protester says they ran them over deliberately. Eye witnesses say it was an accident. Iraqi military say US bombers killed 6 civillians a week or two back. US says this isnt true. Two sides to every story.

Give this protestor the Darwin award, please.

No the Darwin Award people usually die in MUCH dumber ways.

I remember one guy who tried to rob an airplane. He stole valuables from passengers, then was planning on jumping out.

Then he realized he didn't have a parachute. Before he could reconsider a flight attendent pushed him out.

Still, that's pretty damn dumb.

1. Go into military-occupied Gaza to protest. War zone, bitch. This isn't Berkley.

2. Get in front of bulldozer, where it isn't even guaranteed they can see you, and further isn't guaranteed they'll even stop. As said before...war zone. You step up, you = combatant.

3. Don't move out of the way, when bulldozer approaches. This is the hilarity. Its like that scene in Austin Powers, where the guy is screaming at the steamroller. "STOOOOP!!!!! STOOOOOOP!!!!! AAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!!!!" Honestly, at what point do you continue to stand in front of big, slow-moving thing that is coming at you?

I'm honestly shocked that this protestor didn't wasn't able to stand up to this bulldozer and push it out of the way. Musta been a real pantywaist.

That's a pretty good description Sanis, but at least Austin was telling the guy to move.

I think this guy obviously was be very careful at least, it looks to me like she fell accidently I don't think she meant to fall in front of it. Really Israel needs to apologize immidetely maybe even give compensation to the family it would at least make them look good.

Does the BIG LOUD BULLDOZER really need to also have a "Hey, please move" sign on it? Are humans losing this many brain cells?

Well, in the bathroom at Bashinsky Library on campus, I saw a sign that said "Warning: Hot water is very HOT".

When operating heavy machines, you always watch everything that you do. I can't really say whether it was intentional or not. But when moving a bulldozer you generally keep your eyes open at all times especially in the direction you are driving in, whether reverse, turning, or forwards.

If the driver was genuinely aware people were not around, then could this be an accident. If there are people about, you automaticcally assume they will do something dumb and you use extreme caution. You dont do anything unless you are certain all around you are safe.

Hopefully she wasn't like one of those crazy, arrogant, jaywalking pedestrians that challenges cars on the street. "The cars have brakes, he'll stop".:\

And before anybody gets up in arms, I'm with the palestinians on the big issue. I am, however, against stupids.

Sorry I just can not feel sorry for some one who:

1. Knowingly enters a war zone (has been for 1000yrs and will be for another 1000)

2.Stands in front of a 4 ton slowly moving object. Yelling and screaming over a exosed desil engine

3.Dose not take three steps to the right.

4.Also does not try the opposite (Three steps to left)
