If anyone would be so kind as to help me out with this sig, I'd greatly appreciate it. I have a ton of font's on my comp., but I have a crap program (ie Photoshop 3.0) and can't create many text effects. I'm not looking for anything overly complex, but I seriously need help with this.

Well let me help in the meantime. Might be able to give some useful tips as I use a program that sucks. :lol Paintshop. It does the deed but Photoshop is WAY better than it. So maybe an older version is more on par with it. ;) :)

Well, hmm... text glow: Create a text, white, whatever. Copy that layer. Fill a selection of the text, on the copied layer, of the color of the glow. Then Gaussian blur it by about 3... maybe 5. Then drag that layer below the original layer. You can copy the glow layer again and again for a stronger grow. :)

Shadowed Text: Create a text. Copy layer, fill in selection with black, on copied layer, then drag it a little to a spot that would look nice. Then drag that layer below the text layer. You can gaussian blur it for a softer shadow. Just don't move the layer too much from the original. Just make it jut out a bit from under the original layer. You can use this in conjuction to the glow method.

A few easy, simple, straight forward ways to do some stuff. Not too fancy but it should work even on an old program like that. :)

I can make text with a drop-shadow Sage *points to graphic art diploma* :lol I just wish I had better proggies, because I know how to do SO much more. I mean, I learned how to put a picture inside text, I think that would make for an awesome sig, if I had the proggy to do it in. :)

Well, photoshop does that, at least mine does. Turn your text tool into a Type Mask tool (hold down and select it in your toolbat) then type, then move the selection to whatever position you want it. Open up the image you want to paste into the text, select a portion of it, then go back and select Paste into and VIOLA!! You can select and move your image to the exact place within the text. Fun fun. :D

I know, but I have a prehistoric version of PS. :/ I want something higher than 3.0! :lol ( I couldn't remember if it was PS or Illustrator)

Go download Paint Shop from jasc.com. It's a trial version, but for 30 days you can save and use images you make with the program. :)

Oh, and you can put a picture inside text quite easily with Paint Shop. Just make a text, make it a floating selection(I think), then copy the pic from another document and go "edit-paste-paste into selection". Viola! :)

Ps does pwn, it's all I know who to use. Anything Adobe, I can do. Thank you anyways Sagey :)

My friend is supposed to get me a copy of the latest PS and Illustrator, but our scheduels and lack of cars/licenses kinda put a damper on it :p lol.

Oh I know it sucks. :lol

But the trial doesn't take too long to download and you can delete it right after if you want. :) But it's cool. I'm betting you can do something similar in PS, with your version. :)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, I know. Problem is... a teenage, homeschooled, dude like me, has no cash. 900 bucks for PS 'round these har parts. :lol Of course I could get some warez or something, but that's uncool to me. So I'm going to remain the dude without PS. :lol

Tell me more about PS, Marcus... I'm so very keen on it.... :lol

If you could see what you can do in Illustrator, you would pee your pants with joy, Sage. I think it'd be great for you to use in your comic book art. Oh, I wish I had a zip drive, I have all my college stuff on zip disk >_< And I have no compy art on my cd portfolio. :\
